That's a list of who is in and what they have paid. I need more payments guys.

Also, I need you all to fill out the entry form linked in the first post of this thread. I think only one or two people have actually done this so far.

Abo,

I cant get Shane to commit to the extra $135 until we get the GTS back up and running.

Looks like we spun a bottom end or snapped a crank bolt. ETA is 2 weeks so we are touch and go at this stage.

I will let Steve and Ralph know their $135 is needed and to fill in the form.

Thanks

does eastern creek have day licences or you need a yearly CAMS one? Mate is keen just figuring out total cost, if EC dont do day ones it will cost him SAU rego + CAMS + Track day.... ya?

CAMS have a day licence so min cost is:

SAU membership $60

CAMS day licence $40 (this amount can be applied if getting the full L2S later)

Event entry $235

Don't forget fire extinguisher.

I think we have 4 or 5 flaggies at this stage and need about 10.

For the fire extinguisher, where would you be the best place to place a fire extinguisher. Also, can I fill out the form and pay the CAMS day licence on the day?

Two places are good. One, you make a aluminium strip that bolts onto the front two mounting bolts of the passenger seat. Second one you just use the passenger side rear seat mounting bolt. Remember you need to be able to reach it from the drivers seat.

You can pay the cams licence on the day but best to have your membership to SAU sorted well before then and form can be done on the day but they will not be happy about that so please try to get it to them well in advance.

Will send tomorrow

It must have racing stripes

Nah you can get the CAMS approved ones from Repco for about $30.. They actually say "CAMS approved" or something similar on the box (Quell/Chubb brand I think?). The requirements are that it's charged, has a metal bracket, is accessible from the drivers seat, and at least 1kg i think?

Consider getting a larger one if you can (1.5kg?). I had to use mine very briefly on the way back from the last wakefield day, and a 0.25 second squirt sent it well into the red (ie. needs to be recharged). It will be worth the extra $$ if you need to use it :)

Must be 900 grams minimum.

Must be easy to reach for driver.

Must be able to be released without tools - ie clips.

Must stay in place with up to 25 g's applied.

So basically the recommendation is for a metal bracket but it's not 100% necessary as long as the thing holds in there nice and strong.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
