The difference is that i have an engineers certificate for the bov modifications and for my oil catch can...

So i dont need to prove anything. All i need to do is produce the certification of the modifications and if the cop wont accept it then id take the ticket and go to the transport dept.

Anyways...

There is nothing i can do to make you feel better.

Im glad you are copping it on the chin and I hope your making steps to fix your defects.

Otherwise next time your pulled over they will check the same items...

Yeah im actualy not that worried about it,the defects will be fixed, cause mine is a daily driver.Oh by the way i havent been pulled over more fo more than two years

do you know of any engineers? im will need one for a few other things im lookin into.Any ideas how much its worth?

lol..

yeah, there's heaps of room for a battery in the engine bay of a 33 ;)

Not in mine there isn't

But the fact it is, it come out from the factory like that so how can the defect you. If they didn't want them in the boot the should of moved the battery to the front of the car when they complied it

Just roll up to your local import workshop...

Most who do motor conversions and transmission mods have an engineer abord their crew...

I had mine done by my father in-law whom is a mechanical engineer by trade and have an LB1/3/4/7 licience. Which covers all aspects of a motor car or motorbike and a few more which he will not need again.

He is an air bag and bullbar designer to be more specific...

what did you get defeated for R334door ??

too loud which i thought it was ,oil catch can not hooked in,same deal with bov, tinted windows which were on the car when i bought it and not havin tyre placard, never had one on it !! anyway...

i'm trying to think of an illegal modification to my car... i can't think of one off the top of my head...?

i learnt my lesson when i was defected for one side of my front bar being 5mm too low (had a GTR front bar, that was slightly lower on one side for some reason?) and also had a parking light out that had just blown.

i felt a bit jibbed that they picked on those items, but they were defective, so i guess i had to cop it on the chin.

but the lesson to be learned i guess is make sure you're complying with the laws when you're modifying the car, and all will be sweet... you may still get defected, but you'll be able to get them cleared without any hassles.

what exatly does the filter on your BOV filter out Col?

I dont know...

All you need to do is read the legals on the topic at hand and interperate the legal meaning of this statement.

By filtering the air leaving the BOV you are filling the requirements of the law...

i was joking.. ;) = sarcasam

Im glad you mention that Jason...

To measure noise level the noice must be able to be clearlly heard for a time greater than 11 seconds...

In other words you cannot measure a BOV...

When the police measure the DB on your exhaust they have to measure the level for no less than 15 seconds to make a booking...

When being fined for speeding the police need to target the car for no less than 20 metres...

There are always loop holes...

Proof...

Air brakes...

Trailer brakes vent excess pressure via a BOV they produce similar noises and can be activated at a standstill...

Do they get a fine???

Always a loop hole... Just dont be a smart arse about it, until you know your right and your speaking to the right people.

NOTE: Your average 40ft trailer has up to 4 vents for over pressure...

you can get a engineer to approve disabling emissions equipment??? :O if you get defected for that and fight it, the engineer might end up in a whole lot of bother...

the reason an atmo BOV is illegal is the air can contain pollutants (hydrocarbons and the like) from the crankcase (via the PCV) that are not legally allowed to be vented to atmosphere - they have to be burnt and passed through the cat. it has nothing to do with being filtered on the way out. filtering does not remove any emissions or make it legal.

my car has atmo bov's too, but good luck to any police trying to see them!

oh, and trucks don't come under the light vehicle rules mate

Never said they did...

The point was they make just as much noise... You could easilly argue the point...

Trucks/Cars/Motor bikes all need to be lower the 91db as per QLD transport regulations...

Also as previouslly stated a noise must be measured for no less than 11 seconds to be legal as a noise pollution test...

So how exactlly can they book anyone for noise pollution from a BOV???

As for a plumb back setup the majority of the charged air goes back throught the air filter not downstream.

But i have a good understanding on how and why. Its all about whos got the strongest case in court if it needs to go that far.

So as long as it is filtered what else can they do you for???

But a good place to start with is dont attract un-nessary attention to youself. Also if u do salary packaging for the QLD Police they dont pull you over.

So anyways im not saying i know everything or anything... But yeah just sharing my thoughts...

I just want the car to be legal so i dont have to go through that situation again.i went to a few ppl today and cant find a local engineer.

    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
