FT9
Can anyone confirm these specs posted up on the prestige motorsport website? They say that a 3.6L twin-turbo V6 pushing out ~450ps will be powering the new GT-R. Sports a new front kit as well...Certainly looking very aggressive, but gonna miss all that carbon fibre! markimak
sounds a little over exagerated. 450PS is overkill! i was sure it was a 3.5L v6 using the Vq30 350z motor.. its a pitty i wish they continued using the RB26DETT. just use the z tune motor. the Attesa ETS should be quite the work of art. mad082
the latest motor mag has some speculation on gearboxes, being a 7 speed paddle shift, with no clutch pedal. JVP
reading motor: cosworth tweaked 330kw 3.7 or 3.8l twin turbo v6 and could be RWD.... with lotus helping out with suspension interesting....if it lobs into aus could expect a $200,000 price tag shaizen Edited July 19, 2006 by JVP-R32 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126363-new-gt-r-engine-specs-confirmed/#findComment-2339620 Share on other sites
markimak
motor also had a pic of the V35 not the GTR proto unveiled in japan. so i wouldnt go by what motor says. note they also messed up the times for the XR5 and VXR with the Z4 roadster and SLK55 AMG. amazing how they got the same time of 13.42 and 13.52. really good for a FWD hatch. Motor mag seems very informative.. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/126363-new-gt-r-engine-specs-confirmed/#findComment-2340004 Share on other sites
Rezz
The FR transaxel configuration for the Next GT-R has been old news... at least a year or more old. I see engine capacities still being thrown around going from 3.2 right up to 3.8 now. The 3.2L capacity was to shorten the stroke, and completely change the characteristics of the VQ. As far as I know the engine is still VQ based, but I wouldn't rule out an almost completely different engine for the Next GT-R, but it'll probably be all but the basic block being the same as the VQ engines. So until Nissan bring out more info, it's still: FR transaxel, V6 twin turbo, front wheels driven by electric motors with Li-Ion batteries, 7-speed sequential box (with or without a clutch pedal) and an incredibly quick reacting ATESSA system with each wheel controlled independently for torque, aswell as for braking assist.
