You need to workout what power you are ultimately chasing... The R32 Gearbox is lighter than an R33 one, and can still handle 250 rwkw. So if your power figure is less than that, you are much better off sticking with that gearbox. When fitting an R33 one, the standard tail shaft will not fit, and will make the install a bit more difficult.

The engine drops in, no worries at all. However the biggest nightmare is the wiring. This is mainly due to the R33 battery being in the boot - so both looms have to be spliced into each other. If I could do my engine conversion all over again, I would send both looms off to a specialist to get sorted, prior to the install.

I have a rb25 in a r32, the power difference is worth it and if a mate can do the loom, also you can not run the std air box because of the std rb25 piping.

(200rwkw in a r32 is a 12 sec pass) To get 200rwkw out of a rb20 there is a lot of mods to do.

you can say that again sandy it works out alot cheaper to go for the rb25 and also its capable of alot more

so with the money i save i can go for a new turbo&ecu so its happy days for me

hey, reading your post with interest. Is it proven that 200rwkw rb25 in an r32 is a 12 sec pass? Have u done it and if yes wat sort of supporting mods did u have?

And back to the point - rb25 in an r32 best to do both engine and gearbox. R32 gearbox can handle up to 250rwkw, but is not as sollid as the rb25 box. You'll notice how much better the rb25 box feels. May as well do both to avoid further costs.

Modifications required will be gearbox mounts, tailshaft and yoke. The rb25 box is longer than the rb20 so all the adjustments need to be made. Also, run the rb25 ECU with it.

Hope this helps,

cheers

lol

funny enough u say that - my r32 is meggala's old 32 with the 12sec SR20 in it.

He sold it to me 2 yrs back with an rb20 and since then I've dropped an rb25 into it. My goal is to run a low 12 hopefully with the stock turbo.

I'll have a look on the site anyways....lol

cheers mate

    • Hi all, so some of my speakers still work some I don’t think work. The old head unit is still all functional. If I keep the stock head unit as I feel it’s vintage then can I just pop in new speakers - would that be plug and play? Would I need to bypass the amps in the doors and back? Heard there’s 3 of them.  anyone run a blue tooth into the stock head unit? Or is the only option running one of those tape decks with cable coming out?  my cd deck controller although rare I don’t think is working anymore either. Guess if I got that working with the speakers then I could load some cds.    just seeing my options here if anyone has some advise.

I'm nearing the 85k mark for my motor and I'm considering getting the oil galley gaskets done as preventative maintenance when the time comes. Since my garage isn't big enough for such a task, I'm definitely going to be handing it over to him. You'll be impressed by how clean he keeps his workshop. It gives you the confidence he and his employees will look after your vehicle with the same pride.
    • The Bogan Sports Car now has fresh gear bag and diff oil The old gear bag oil was nice and clean looking, the old diff oil was average looking, not horrible, just dark, I've seen worse in other cars, much worse Good things was that both drain plug magnets looked good with zero bits of anything apart from a small coating of that typical black goo you get on the diff plug, it was probably the original diff oil, but nothing shiny The shifts are sweet, and the Torsen is Torsening like a boss (tested in the work vehicle maintenance yard after work).
