Recommended Posts

They are targetting these 3 area's, Altona not so much as Werribee & Hoppers, pulling any modified car over.

Watch out if you drive an import around these area's, ths month they are cracking down hard here.

not that i doubt anyone with a total of 17 posts.. but how did u come across this information to come to this conclusion?

run in with the law so they must be pulling everyone over?

u work in the police force? (although i doubt that anyone in the police force would refer to them as T.O.G.S as im sure they replaced them with T.M.U)

or just a "heard it through the grapevine"?

LOL wat!!!

ive lived in Hoppers for 4 yrs now and ive not once heard of shooting or a murder.

I lived in geelong for 15 yrs prior to moving here and now yeh, u do hear about murders and shootings and ofcourse drug dealers there but drug dealers are in every suburb its just that u dont hear/see it.

i mean the real western suburbs, sunshine, st albans, albion etc...

Dandenong, Frankston, Springvale, Boxhill,

Moot point buddy.

You're more likely to get your car stolen in the West, that said, you're more likely to be murdered in the East. Crime is sporadic and yes, social factors to come into account to a certain extent, but the socio-economic status of various suburbs in the East and West varies. (Compare Dandenong for example, to Mordiallac, or Sunshine to Taylors Lakes....vast contrast in socio economic status!)

In simple English, there are good and bad suburbs, in both the East and West.

They are???

Ive had my R33 in Hoppers for 14 months so far and only been pulled over once and nothing happened, was just a "random check"

Can i ask how u know this XXX-33???

seen them busting people on old Geelong rd and today while going to get my exaust fitted on my car an exaust centre on Old geelong rd confirmed it by telling me that they have been driving up and down and around hoppers werribee area hunting people with modded cars.

i put this up to give people in this area a heads up.

buddy, im just giving a heads up, im not posting this for no reason.

i know that williamstown always has cops cruisin around

i never take my line out there in summer, they pull ANYONE over.

theyve also put poles up along the esplanade in altona and williamstown so no dicks can drag up n down all day...

Seeing cops pull over a couple of people in imports and then coming on here warning people of the "blitz" is not really a reason.

Read your title of this thread and then read what you wrote and if u still wonder why no one cares or why people doubt the accuracy of your information... eat your own head.

I was pulled over there as well a couple of years ago in the gazelle, I was 'driving too slowly'.. (because we were trying to find the house that was vacant) on an empty street at night.. pfft.. apparently there's a power station or something there that would be the #1 terrorist target in melbourne.. but that's only according to the TMU chick that pulled me over.

I think there's something to this socalled 'blitz' but it's not only around those areas.. I haven't been hassled once around here (northern burbs) until last week and a few days later I personally saw about 4 cars getting defected in the same area, all on the same day, including a ricey supra which was pulled over right in front of me. And then 10mins later the same cop was sitting on the side of the road, ignoring a bunch of people speeding/being 'hoons' etc and obviously waiting for a ricer to drive past.

Also been told by a workshop that they're getting everyone around here for ground clearance atm. Maybe they're trying to pump everyone's tax returns back into the govt.

my mate was there last summer and he reckons he saw cops randomly putting canarys on any parked cars that looked dodgey (not just imports) they left notes saying they needed to report to epa or someshit...i never go there, too much of a pain in the ass....

    • Have you done the Ignition Sync Wizard in the AEM software?
    • Find out what RPM it was idling at with the IACV unplugged. It's very weird that the rpm didn't change at all, and then it stalled. When it stalls is it nearly like a switch off, like you've turned the engine off? Or is it more stutters and sputters and coughs to death over a few seconds? Or does the RPM just slowly keep going down and down? Have you done a test of trying to start it with the AFM unplugged? Does it still die?     If you Follow Josh's advice on using Nistune to check the voltages (which is a perfect method!) if you see anything out of wack voltage wise, THEN get the multimeter out and read the voltage directly at the sensor. If the two vary, then you're now looking for a wiring issue vs a sensor issue. So be aware, what the ECU sees, may not be what the sensor is actually saying too...
    • You very likely need to get it on a dyno and tune it. My assumption is, you've got an RB25DET tune in it, which has a different manifold, different injectors, and different cams as a minimum. What O2 sensor are you running?   When you say it runs extremely rich from idle all the way to redline, is this just free revving it you see that?
    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
