if the sensor is not plugged in, then it wont flash.

it sounds like are getting mixed up.

are you seeing an orange flash or red one ?

turn your car to ACC, take of all the lights lit up, then post on here and circle which one you see flashing and coming on.

only the engine check light should flash

lastly you can check all yours sensors under ETC, SENSOR SW CHECK and look for any black highlighted sensors, these are ones that are not working

A better pic

YELLOW BOX = 4WD LIGHT RED

BLUE BOX = CAT TEMP LIGHT FLASHES RED

GREEN BOX = ENGINE CHECK LIGHT FLASHES RED

PURPLE BOX = DOOR OPEN LIGHT RED

Orignially the GREEN BOX engine check light was coming on as AFM was maxing out. Now BLUE BOX cat temp light is flashing instead.

Check the exh. temp sensor is ground properly.

Erm... are you sure you haven't got a tad mixed up which light flashes on the r32???

I have just checked mine and its always the cat temp light that flashes due to detonation or afm maxing out.

The light you state to be the green box (top right) on mine is actually a seat belt light that flashes on and off when you first turn the ignition on.

I don't actually appear to have a check engine light. :)

I'll take a pic in a few minutes and throw it up, maybe its moved around a tad on the rwd pos version. :)

My light that flashes is most definitely the bottom left light through. Which does appear to be the cat light.

My lights are layed out as followed..

Top left, NFI

Top right, seat belt warning

Bottom left, cat temp

Bottom right, door open warning

Not too sure where my check engine light is... I've never seen it come on.

Ok im not too sure joel what are you up to wanna come for a cruse and ill show you :)

Ok I believe it is a knock warning. I think you have some kind of knock warning level set in the PFC. You can change it with the datalogit software but it shouldn't display that exhaust temp light until knock of about 50 or 60.

I have a PFC and this exhaust temp light cam on on my GTR a short while ago. I have my knock sensor display constantly on the Commander and when the car is upto temp the knock is always lower than 30 (sometimes lower than 20). If my exhaust temp light is on because of the knock, I would assume its becuase on start up, my car hits 80-84 knock. This has happened since my Power FC install (presumably since I bought the car) and the temp light hasn't displayed on the dash until now.......

confused? :)

my cat light on my r32 gtr is just permenantly on no matter if the car iss tone cold, not that it matters as i have no cat, anyone explaine this?

edit

dont worry i fixed it, it seems that the boost control option was on in the power fc, when i turn it off the light goes away, so it seems r32 does use cat light as warning light for the fc.

Edited by GTR1993

Well i think i have it sorted now, the cat light is used as a warning light by the power fc on the r32's for injector max, afm max, and knock, obviously since i had the hand controller hooked up i could see it wasnt knock and the injectors where going to 100% duty so its either afm or injectors. I kind of got the lights mixed up as the cat light was flashing and i wasnt looking at it as i was concetrating on the road more then anything :) . So problem sorted thanks for the help guys!

Also dont use that 95 octane fuel it is just crap and can do some serious damage if your car is tunned for 98... :)

And isn't it rather interesting how your injectors are 100% and your afm reads 5.115 volts yet only making 187rwkw or whatever it was. :(

Then you wonder why it completely reels past 210rwkw+ rb's. :)

Shauns dyno reads slightly lower. :)

thanks for clearing it up

so rx7 and r32 use exhaust cat temp light as their "engine check light" flash method. also for those interested ive added how to use low octane fuel with the powerfc if you get in a situation where you have to put in penis fuel, it tells you how

    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
