I had a great day, I was expecting to be more tired seeing as I'd just gotten in from Sydney but once I got in the car I was fine. I probably should have put my stockies on but needed to use the Yokohamas for the photo shoot with Joel at Lunch time. Looking foward to seeing the photos from Joel.

Was great to see so many girls entered and also great to see another well organised fun SAU club event. Good to catch up with the Usual suspects and the WRX guys that drove up to spectate. It's nice to see people not entered taking time to come up and support the club and their friends.

Can't wait for the next one, should have my new dif by then aswell.

next time do you think i should take the munro onto the d4d thingo ???

considering my handbrake barely slows the car down etc ...

ummm

hang on, i dont think ill do that, nope ...

ill be signing up as an sau - ee after i get a bit more of my car sorted out ... so ill be pissing off ppl most likely ... and hear whispers on "what the hell is that peice of crap doing here'

hehe

bring on deca btw ... i have a helmet, booyah

For sure mate! It'll be great to see the old holden sideways. Just make sure it's got a locked diff and you'll enjoy yourself. Just do it for the fun of it, because your car will be the limiting factor. Give it a go!

some great photo's there Wokka, nice work.

I really fried my rear tyres during this day, delaminating them on the final wet event, I think that was mainly due to that surface being a fair bit rougher than the big skidpan. I was in the 3rd group to go on the wet event an I thought it was still wet enough, but I guess my tyres proved otherwise. I was giving them a fairly hard time, I expected I would though thats why I used a different pair of rims on the day so I didnt feel I had to hold back.

I cant wait for the next event, this day was well organised, well structured, had great events for beginners and all the knowledge from the insructors anyone could need.

HUGE THANKS to all involved, organisers, instructors & participants, everyone made it a great day!!

I've got vids but they are on an analog video camera. Anyone know how I can convert these into digital format so I can load them up?

hmmm, if u can hook the camera up to a tv, which has a dvd recorder on hooked up to it, i beleive u can do it that way, but im only assuming :O

off topic but did anyone fill up in melbourne just before D4d and then note fuel economy once they had gone through a full tank?

I filled up in melbourne the night before and was empty at 460k's including trashing the car for the day (used about 1/3 @ D4D), interested what others got ?

Hmmmm I'll look into it.

Here are some pics that I took. I have heaps more but don't want to put up pics of peoples plates. What program should I use to black them out.

Check out the truck driver. He was holding on for his life!!!

That corvette that rocked up was very nice...

The one of Pete is just before the pop...

same goes for mspaint, but might affect the quality of them when you save...

paul, i filled up saturday morning, was at 3/4 tank or there abouts when we got to deca

left deca with half a tank, drove home to hoppers, and probably still had 1/4 tank left

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
