im looking at getting an R31 but still cant decide on an engine. im going between SR20DET, CA18DET, FJ20ET, RB20DET, or work on the RB30E a bit.

Torque is king , luckily the largest (RB30) is the cheapest to work on . If on a budget RB30ET's can make good power .

i saw an RB30 supercharger kit on ebay for just under $800.

still, a rebuilt RB26DETT...

Suit rebuild... ie, spend $10,000 on it and then it will work

i read that the RB30 wasnt that good for going above 7500rpm cos of the block's not that strong.

RB20DET R32 GTST type and 5 speed $1500

10k regardless. You'd use a workshop to rebuild it unless your an RB expert.

You dont need to rev the RB30et anywhere near that high.

rb20 or rb30e+t/rb30et for cheaper, RB25 next, then rb26 or rb30 twincam

after buying the car for $500, $2700. that rb20 was $1500 and i could use the $1200 left on the driveline.
