A Date has been set is to be sunday september 10th........... there has been a show of interest in a show and shine at the first meet point before the actual cruise, gives all a chance to pretty up thier babys and show em off unofficially.

There has been a tentative booking made for a pre-cruise meet/show n shine at Albert Park Lake we will have the Swan Picnic Grounds & Car park <map 2K ref G5> from 9am - 12.30pm (the car park has enough spaces for 50 -60 cars) and cruise to Princess Park in Queenscliff <map 487 ref A12>there will be a cost of $10 ($5 for the use of albert park & $5 to the variety club) for the pre-meet/show n shine and need a minimum of 50 cars so get the word out and lets make this worthwhile

to just join the cruise it'll be a donation of $5 to the variety club.

also just to let you all know we are supporting Sheen Panel Service Car 55 in thier efforts to raise $35000.00 for this years bash to be the highest fundraiser. there will be collection tins circulated on the day to collect the donations!!!!!

hope to see you all there.

as there has not been enough interest in the pre-meet/show n shine this event will just be a cruise meeting at albert park at 12.00pm departing at 12.30pm

still a charity cruise $5.00 donation to the variety club, there have been stickers made for all those who make a donation.

the cruise is to queenscliff it will roughly cover 50-100kms

hope to see plenty of you there.

i was about to say that im there coz i still havent attended any SAU events since joining the forums but i checked the calendar and that is when im getting my audio and alarm installed. :)

I wish to attend but I am not in any club. Can i still attend the event. I have some mate too that might want to bring there cars. Is there a restriction on what cars can come.

your a member of this club arnt you?

feel free to come along as well as you have a nissan or mitsu.

No i am not a member of SAU yet but would possibly like too. I live out in gippsland and I am not sure i would make good use of my member ship if i joined. Is a bit far to travel all the time to participate. Depends on how much extra money i have at the time. I am in melb currently so i should easily be able to make it.

Considering this is posted in the general events section, I'd say its open to all forum members.

You only need to be an SAU-Vic member to attend our SAU-Vic cruises/events, and they're the ones you wouldnt know about, unless you had access to the members only events section :O

Hey hey there is my car. I saw the person taking that top pic in the car behind me. Was looking in the mirror and said to my mate "that dudes got a camera i think n taking a pic". Good stuff. I will have to keep an eye out for future cruises.

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
