Hey Guys & Gals,

Reece (Turismo) & I went today to one of these Skid and Dift days - run by Dereck (owner and operator of Fifthgear Motorsports) and it was money well spent!....SERIOUSLY.

We started at about 8:15 and left after washing our cars at about 13:15 or so. So all in all a fair few hours of driving and tutorial. Well worth the money! :)

If you are wanting to tune your drifting skills, or just go out and go rank! Then you should definately look into the Skid and Drift days. However, Fifthgear offers alot more, ie; Defensive driving courses, Advanced driving courses and you can buy your self some time in Derecks car (a quite nicely modded, but simple track R32 GT-R...running at about 400HP).

Dereck is a very approachable bloke who is very good at finding a way to explain in a way you can understand anda way that can be benefictial to you, just how you need to improve your method of driving to get to the outcome you want. We both highly recomend Fifthgear Motorsport!

Well I'm not sure if the next "Skid & Drift" day will be the same special $99 price but even if it is the normal $125 price it's still worth it. I was thinking that if we could stir up enough interest through SAU and regularyly had days there then we might get a nice little discount...but.... I really dont mind spending the normal price.

LOL Nice work....yeah the non public sessions thing is something that reece and I have been organising with some friends but I definately think that we should get an SAU day organised. Teacher and students all with Liners!....Well bar one underpowered BMW....but hopefully that will be gone soon or at least I'll have my track car.

I just realised aside from the SAU day which I would like to do I am going to one (should we get enough people) for a mates birthday.....Isn't Dereck going to be happy that he met us!

Nup, different guy and company.

Ah yes the drop out rate is high BUT we have one small thing that helps there be as small a drop out rate as possible.... prior payment! You have to pay before you go! So what we could do is set a date in the not too distant futur but certainly enough time to organise 8 people and then we could pay for oursleves. Anyone drops out :) - thats fine! Because Dereck get his money and we still get to go to the Skid Pan (in fact its actually better the fewer people there are as you have more time and more opportunities to get out on the Pan) :) .

I'm not sure but I think we can make a booking around that time anyway. I know myself and Reece (TURISMO) and going to the public one also.

Look, how about we do this.... LIST! Simply put your name and mobile down in a post and once we have about 8 we can organise a time when we can all meet.

1. Pat (DJ_On_ice) 0411487633

2. Reece (TURISMO) 0423958366

3. Steve 0431121840

4. Leech

FIVE! WE'RE GOING FOR FIVE!

im definately in for a private session....

i've been trying to organise a skidpan day at eastern creek with aaron mcgill motorsport. his skidpan days are just awesome. games, timed team racing and even racing against other cars at the same time. but they are much more expensive than $125....

2 months seems like a good time frame. everyone can organise time off work if need be and get their cars ready if their not already...

count me in. i can probably drum up a few more as well....

i might even give the next public session ago!

looks like we should get 8 easy. If we dont get the numbers for a private session then i will prob go to a public one anways i never even thought these were done in this area... i was thinking i would have to go to wakefield... granted i know this is not a race track or anything but still a good safe area to push a few limits of the car's handling

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
