Hey,

i looking at purchasing a new clutch now my old has finally destroyed itself after 13 years...

I can get an Ogura Race Clutch (ORC), either a twin plate damper clutch Kit ($1990) or 400ps Single Plate With Damper ($1400) from a guy from performance Parts Australia (Thuy Lam), and i very very interested and curious to know if anyone has ever used one of these clutches?

Basically i would like to know if these clutches are any good?

Are they more for performance than driving everyday?

Are they violent when they grip or can you ride the clutch a little for everyday driving?

Am i getting them at a decent price or getting ripped off?

Any recommendations between the 2 or are they both rubbish and should look elsewhere? (Exedy or Xtreme?)

Anyone had deals with Performance Parts Australia or Thuy Lam and think it not worth working with him?

Can anyone recommend a good 2-way LSD other than NISMO cause NISMO is about $1600 or is that a good price to pay?

I know pretty much nothing about clutches and drive trains so any help will make me happy

Thanks, Jake

Thuy Lam is on nissansilvia.com as a trader. I got my HKS turbo from him, didn't have too many problems apart from customs that tried to make me pay tax, which he sorted out but it took a few weeks - not his fault really...

Have a look at the KAAZ LSD. they are about $1200 and quite a few people use them with out problems - i'm going to get one eventually too

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
