Are you running a Pod Jazza? Would most likely explain the temps, used air from the radiator was probably being passing over; either that or the temp sensor was slightly placed incorrect.

With my CAI I see temps pretty much spot on the AT temp. Within a degree or two.

No I'm running the stock airbox actually, just with an APEXI panel filter. I must admit I was surprised that the reading was so high, though the fan could have actually been directing air around in the engine bay before heading into the CAI (I noticed the fan was completely missing the airbox as well as the intercooler), not to mention the whole car was hot from only just being driven & sitting out in the sun for 15 minutes.

There was also clearly heat issues with the smic as it did drop 7kw on the second run (you could see on the graph the torque dropping off right through the rev range. even though the boost creeps up a bit), though I'd be curious to see what the IT temp was on the second run.

Just out of curiousity how much power correction would you say there was Cubes? I do still very much agree with the dyno reading as acceleration at the top end for my car is far more explosive than it used to be with my old split dump (not as good a design & it cracked).

Thanks for letting me in in the traffic this morning by the way DriftR_33, made it to work with only 1 minute spare thanks to the fire at Jaycar

If assuming that Dyno Dynamics use SAE J1349 reference conditions, the reference temperature is 25C. If your IT was 40C, the correction would be roughly +3%. Conversly if the IT was 10C, the correction would be -3%.

Hmm if this is so, then my actual reading was roughly 164kW before power correction, which is 6kw less again than even my second run came up with.

Hmmm, would be interested to know what others were getting on their IT readings now.

My IT was 37.

What I wanna know is what the reference BP (barometric pressure) units are that DD are using. If its kpa, then I would assume that a BP of 101.1 would have a negative correction on all our readings as the SAE reference is 98.8kpa.

Might shoot Dyno Dynamics an email...

try and find my extra 20kw that i lost :(

my extra bits are

BP: 101.3 RH: 60 AT:25 IT:39 RR:013 TN:3.454

Interesting.... re the night time.

Would be good to go somewhere different also..

Blackwood auto and dyno has a good setup; from memory I remember they had windows that you could stand against and see the car running up.

There's also Hitech dyno.

Sorry Madaz can't say much from your Shootout parameters. Either your car has really lost power or the parameters from your last reading where whacky beacuse the current run seem OK to me right now.

And yeah a night time dyno would be sweet. But even during summer where its mid to high 20s over night, its still gonna be friggin hot!

Btw Cubes when I was in the cell I was sweatin in there? It seemed pretty hot. Or maybe because of all you onlookers expecting 1000rwkw. lol.

try and find my extra 20kw that i lost :D

I found it......... I found it.......... It came to my car, i was reading 18kw more than last time on the same dyno WITHOUT touching a thing! :)

As for the night time dyno thingo........ would either have to speak to residents around the area or find a dyno in a industrial area, cos i don't think they would be too happy!

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
