Driver's Side Window Switch

I'm trying to get my hands on a switch for the driver's side of a '93 R33. The motor seems to be working fine. I can't put my window down but if i try and put it up, it works fine. All the other controls on the the unit work fine ( ie. passenger window, door locks). Im having trouble finding anyone with a switch for sale. Any help on the problem would be great.

Cheers

Steve

i had the same promblem with mine and i have seen it on a few others, my switch wast the promlem i was the realy inside a little black box that was causing dramas i took it to the auto electrician and he fixed it for $70 bucks which is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new control or relay especially if it turns out that you dont really need one

Buy a brand new one through nissan, but be prepared to pay around $350 - $400 for it :)

Does the switch feel fubar? doesnt click properly etc? if so id say its the switch. Had the same prob but wouldnt go up, went down fine.

Replaced switch with brand new unit, works a treat now.

open up the control box and put few drops of solder on the one that isnt properly soldered. will fix it up good.. i resolderd all my connectors on the circuit so id never have to do it again lol..

  • 2 weeks later...

i broke mine a little bit to open it but who cares, you don't see it anyway. wrap it in a bit of electrical tape once you've soldered up the problem and bob's ya uncle. that WILL be your problem, no doubt about it.

i did, it was the black box.. after all that effort of removing the window regulators it was as simple as resoldering 1 wire on the black box..

just pry it open where the plug joins to it and see if u can find any loose solders or joins without enough solder on them.. i found 1 which fixed the problem completely..
