SysLink67
I have a 1990 R32 GTR with Tomei Type B cams and I use a Apexi Power FC D-Jettro. My sensor readout on my hand controler once my car has warmed up is O2 sensor 1 avg 1.54v / O2 sensor 2 avg 1.48v is this normal???!!! doesn't much fluctuate between those values except when idleing sites between 1.34v ~ 1. 42v. The reason I ask this is that with my current config above im getting 300k's to a tank!!!! which I thought was just abit too thirsty...... ????? I ask another GTR owner with simular config as me that gets 400 to 450 K's to a tank in a R33 GTR with type B cams N1 turbos apexi ecu etc etc very simular to me.... I thought if anyone has info that could shed some light on to this would great. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/130392-o2-sensor-ok/ Share on other sites
SLIPPERY
not sure if this helps or not but... my oxy sensors are stuffed but the car runs leaner on cruise. this enables me to get 500km to a tank. The problem of jerkiness when cruising goes away when i unplug the sensors and the fuel consumption suffers. This makes me pretty certain that theyre stuffed. the question is....if the o2 sensors are stuffed, can they increase and decrease the fuel consumption for different cars? SLIPPERY
i think i can answer my own question....the 02 sensor thread of a million pages will suggest that they can definitely increase fuel consumption haha carry on..... SysLink67
I think you missed the point of my post. I just need to get some info on the values of my O2 sensors and perhaps opinions as to whether my fuel consumption is justified when a R33 GTR with same setup gets 100 to 150 more ks per tank?? SLIPPERY
i know it wasnt directly relevant but what i was getting at was just because theyre getting better mileage doesnt mean your oxy sensors have had it also , i thought that when youre cruising, the 02 sensors, if running efficiently, are constantly sampling which would be shown on the commander as fluctuating voltage levels? as soon as some one knows the regular voltage values then youll have your answer. PHATR32
arnt o2 sensors reading meant to be between 0v and 0.5v? weird thing is mine a hitting the 1.4v mark too steve Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/130392-o2-sensor-ok/#findComment-2414033 Share on other sites
OFENSV
should switch between 0 and 1 volt t idle and cruise. 1 of mine reads like 3 volts and the oher 1.4 volts. im guesing i need new ones Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/130392-o2-sensor-ok/#findComment-2414144 Share on other sites
fr0st
Normal oxygen sensors are 0 to 1v. 0.5v is when the AFR is 14.7 so I'd say its stuffed. Have a look at this http://techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/ Wideband sensors last for about 160 000km's so it should last you a while Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/130392-o2-sensor-ok/#findComment-2414427 Share on other sites
PHATR32
i hear they only last 50,000? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/130392-o2-sensor-ok/#findComment-2418157 Share on other sites
fr0st
This is from the LSU4 datasheet (which is the wideband bosch make) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/130392-o2-sensor-ok/#findComment-2418447 Share on other sites
PHATR32
ye but that goes for the bosch and doesnt mean the stock sensors are the same Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/130392-o2-sensor-ok/#findComment-2429446 Share on other sites
