hey guys and goils.

i was wondering if any one knows where i would be able to get a rear cut of a stagea say from the a pillar back, as i would like to build a trailer.

even if it is only a shell it doesnt matter as it would be getting gutted anyway but would be nice if it had the windows and all the other glass in it along with the tail gate and lights etc.

if any of oyu guys have any ideas i would be keen to have a look.

cheers oxford

there was a front write off about 6 months ago at auction in perth i think

but from pillars back looked all good i dunno what it went for .try searching the aussie auctions

That car got sold for a dirt cheap price and is currently getting repaired at the moment

Try Kresta in Brisbane 3245 1555

Talk to John

They got hold of the original crash test vehicle from compliance approval

Will/did have some damage in the rear RH dog leg from side impact testing

They may still have the shell.

k great thanks guys.

i have seen a similar one that gave me the idea in a french car mag, it was done with an rs4 AUDI wagon and it looked trick as hell all painted the same colour with the same tint and wheels etc.

the doors on the front still operated but the rears were welded shut so there could be a flat lift up floor put in there that was accessable from the rear tailgate.

whole unit looked the goods and saw another one that was done from the B pillar back so it was shorter and had a flat front instead of a steeled in windscreen area, same model car but different colour so might have been the same family or workshop or something?

I would much rather like from the end of the bonnet back, as I would be using it for long haul journeys back to brissie, so having the windcreen there would make it look that I was towing someone, or someone was following REALLY close! :P

Would be fairly heavy though, that long. You'd need to have its brakes hooked up, i believe. Would be better wind resistance, though...

I figure you could probably use the tailgate from another stagea again, to reverse it and use it to seal the front of the trailer. I dunno. Never done it.

Ive seen it done with a torana. You know how you see them with "torana" decals across the bottom of the doors? the trailer had "torailer". Original. It was from the A-pillar back, too.

hmmm

I think i might do this too

At this point, looks like my current stagea will become my run-a-bout and ill get a 260rs as a fun car.

I just will loose too much on the current one if ill sell it and cant go past the auto and towbar for towing.... a trailer....that is half a stagea.

why dont you just turn your current stagea into a trailer, and tow it with the 260RS ??? :D:D:)

seen these too. the RSsix Stageaccordion.

ps bit of a hassle whippin up one of these bad boys in mspaint... ill leave it to someone else.

simple guys, stiffen up the rear car suspension, weld the tailer onto the car via a ball joint from the a pillar, put rubber around the car/trailer to stop rain and you have one of those bending buses

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
