sounds like a decent bloke who just ran into some bad luck......are we sure this guy is a scammer? or just trying to catch up on some debt

^^ If that were the case, he would have contacted his buyers and let them know.

This sort of stuff is the main reason why I only buy stuff for my car of reputable dealers. NEVER from eBay.

I am Tyson Garrahy, the owner and operator of the business Japstyle Bodykits

I wish to shed some light on the situation and explain, as it has been sensationalised to some extent.

I first wish to apologise to my customers for the delay in responding to you as i understand some time has passed since the business was wound down.

I extend an invitation to customers who have not recieved their products or a refund to follow the protocol below to recieve a full refund, less moneys you are entitled to under the ebay buyer protection scheme, paypal reimbursments or credit card charge backs. If you have not persued these options already i strongly advise you to.

The reason this situation come to pass was due to manufacturing delays, late shipment, and some products simply never made it to the country, or incorrect quantities of ordered products were sent. This meant that the time between the customer ordering and the time it took to ship the item to the customer was excessive, resulting in complaints to ebay. I was deregistered from ebay due to this, and that further compounded the problem. Many are unaware that sales records (eg customers details) became unavalable to me. I then basically lost track of my customers. Much money was lost to overseas suppliers who never shipped me the goods, resulting in a loss of aprox. $20 000 - which is the reason the business no longer operates as all money invested by the business was in its stock.

Contrary to popular belief i am not in the business of "scamming". I am an enthusiest and wished to provide my fellow entusiests bodykits at a resonable price - in fact i got in to the business because all the big players in the industry were charging double what the product was worth, and i did not think it was fair. This was my first try at importing goods, and logistics were not quite right - so much so the delays cost me the business.

WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT

If you are owed money by the business it will be repayed. Follow the protocol below, however i ask for your patients - after all custmers have contacted me the money wil be raised - it is unknown how long this will take, but I will endevour to resolve the situation as quickly as posible.

No goods are being sent - your money will be refunded

PROTOCOL TO RECIEVE REFUND

Send an email to [email protected] with "REFUND" then your full name as subject

For your refund to be granted you MUST include a recept of payment - e.g. the stub from a money order, recept from casheer, an extract of a bank statement etc. A date or reference to an email i sent to you is not good enough.

Include your name, address, contact number, ebay username (if aplicable), date of payment, amount payed, and let me know if you would like your refund to be mailed or transfered electronically (also include acc and bsb if aplicable) NO OTHER INFO IS REQUIRED

I would like to resolve this as quickly as possible, so only email once - i will reply informing you the email has been recieved. Do not include information other than what is required as this will cause delays in the process.

I would also like to take this time to dispel some myths and rumours.

It is correct that i have moved house for employment reasons. I will not disclose my new address for obious reasons (simply read posts on various forums)

I am not a "scammer"

I intend to repay every customer who is entitled - i strongly believe in "what comes around, goes around"

Japstyle Bodykits is in no way linked to www.jap.com or any other similar business operating anywhere

WARNING

Any person who acts in a threatening or harassing manner will not recieve a refund even if entitled. That extends to excessive emails, phone calls, or ANY instance of persons arriving at my residence or place of employment... I ask that you follow the protocol. Please refrain from calling as it is not necasary - all i am asking is a FAIR GO - i am doing the right thing by you, so do the right thing by me. Simple.

sounds liek your sincere mate, bad luck on your situation. hopefully everything will turn out alright for you.

dont think this guy would have ne thing to do with jap.com.au they are okla - i bought r32 vertex kit off them from a ns.com special they gave very good service and very prompt delivery... kit wasnt a perfect fit (only the rear bar) but nothing too hard to fix

Well I just spoke to Tyson himself and as I thought from the first few times I spoke to him when I bought the kit a few months ago he is a nice guy and is doing everything he can to get the situation sorted. I have worked out an arrangment with him, which i suggested and he was happy with. I am confident he will come through with the arrangement we discussed today, and will let you know how things go.

I am the first to admit it is very scary, annoying and pisses you off when it appears you have lost money in a situation like this, and it seems like you will never get it back but he sounds genuine and has an action plan in place to get everyone sorted. I think the worst part was the fact he was not contactable by phone, and because his customers are all over australia, and not within close proximity to where he lives, you just feel hopeless and lost. No replies to emails, or phones switched off or disconnected usually means the person is in hiding and not planning to refund any money at all, but it appears this situation is different, as people have been recieving refunds. I'm sure not everyone can get one straight away, but he would not get on skylines australia and post the reply he wrote above if he was in hiding or planning to skip town with the money.

I will keep you guys updated as to weather or not he comes through with the arrangement we organised as I will know ASAP if he really is genuine, or just a good talker.

Tyson came through for me and provided exactly what was arranged and its all sorted. To anyone else, just be patient, he will helop you out as soon as he can. He is a decent bloke and will do his best to get it all sorted for everyone else ASAP.

Ivan, I can inform you he does not live at the chermside address that was listed on the internet. He has moved but because I respect his privacy I can not list the new location where he is living. Just send him an email or give him a call and he will do his best to get things sorted for you. It only took 2 days to get my situation fixed and all it took was 1 phone call.

I can assure you he will help you with the kit or a refund. Please just keep calm as it wont help the situation getting angry. He will come through for you and fix this up.

    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
    • OK, now we are ready to get started. You need to remove the air boxes on each side for clearance. The cover is straightforward, undo the clips on the top and lift the front cover out of the rest of the housing. If it is tight you can remove the air filters first. The rear section of the airbox is trickier. On each side you need to remove the Air flow meter wiring which is held to the airbox with a clip; you need to get behind the clip on 2 sides if you want to remove it without breaking it - unclip the harder side and pull on the clip with medium force, then unclip the easier side and it should pop out The airbox is held onto the intake hose with a spring clamp; you need to get a flat bladed screwdriver behind the spring on both sides and pop them outwards. When you have got them in the right unclipped place they will stay there and the airbox slips out pretty freely. Put a rag in the intake to prevent anything getting dropped in there, and also to prevent you seeing that the turbo seal is leaking oil (as they do). Then. The top of the radiator is held by a steel plate, it is secured by 2x10mm and 2x12mm headed bolts . Remove them and remove the plate Also grab the bushings that hold the radiator to the plate on each side so they are not lost!
    • Next, remove the upper and lower radiator hoses, both are held with a spring clamp. While you are under there, tackle the Auto Trans cooler lines.  Again both are held on with spring clamps, and as mentioned above you should cap them on the radiator side with an 8mm cap, and on the car side loop them with a length of 8mm pipe - this will stop you losing a dangerous amount of AT fluid during the rest of the job If you've been meaning to add a sender for AT trans temp, this is a great time to do it; put a sender fitting into the passenger side line as that is the inlet to the cooler/radiator.
    • Next you need to remove the intake duct (as with pretty much every job on these cars), it is a series of clips you gently remove with a flat bladed screwdriver. They do get brittle with time and can break, and I have not found a decent quality aftermarket one that fits (they are all too soft or flimsy and don't last either) but the nissan ones are a couple of bucks each (ouch).  Once the clips are off (either 8 or 10, I didn't check) you lift the intake duct out and will see the reservoirs Undo the line into the radiator side cap (some bent needle nosed piers are awesome for spring clamps) and then remove the 4x 10m nuts that hold both in place.  I didn't get these pics, but remove the line under the radiator reservoir (spring clamp again) then remove that reservoir. Then you can get at the intake reservoir, same thing, spring clamp underneath then remove it. BTW This is a great time to put in a larger (+70%) combined reservoir that AMS makes..... https://www.amsperformance.com/product/q50-q60-red-alpha-coolant-expansion-tank/ They also make an Infiniti branded and part# version if that is your thing
