Turboing A Non Turbo

Im thinking about turboing my 94 R33 GTS. What would be the best setup to get that wont stuff my engine.

Ive also been told the safest i can run boost at would be 7psi (above that i will have engine problems) is this true?

Also what other stuff will i need besides an intercooler and the piping. ie Pressure gauges and stuff like that
