There was a thread on here a few weeks ago but I cant find it after searching. Anyway when I change from 1st to 2nd (HR31 RB20DET) it sometimes revs up when I change gear.

Or if Im going along in 3rd and get it on boost as soon as I clutch in sometimes the revs will sit at the same rpm for about a second or sometimes even go up as if I am still pressing on the accelerator.

Now is spraying lubricant all over the throttle linkages likely to solve this, I remember someone saying in the previous thread to lube up part of the butterfly but cant remember where.

Any tips guys?

Cheers.

hey buddy that was my problem - to fix it i took off the throttle body (you have to disassemble the throttle cable assembly) and i bought a can of throttle body cleaner and cleaned everything till it was damn shiney...

Especially the throttle cable assembly parts - there are two springs and some plastic/metal separators etc and there was all sticky crap all over them so thats what was doing the sticking...

if u spray lube on the outside it wont do anything coz under the outer spring is a whole bunch of pieces that are the sticky parts.

be careful when removing all the components so u remember what order they go on -

Hmm pulled it apart today, soaked it in degreaser and gave it s scrub, got most of the gunk out and it seems to be better only doing it very occasionally now.

I managed to put back on differently now so the accelerator is much less springy and softer. Have to wind it up again tommorow. Oh well.
