You think that Traffic offense fines go to roads and health care facilities? UNTHINKABLE!

Sadly, it probably all gets routed into Travel Junkets...

well...

ive been clocked at 76kph over the limit and was told that if anyone was on the car with me i wouldve been charged with "reckless endangerment" and negligent driving etc which wouldve resulted in a trip straight to court. thing is, if there was someone else in the car with me i wouldnt have done it :(

My 1st was $1500 and 6 points on my P's.

This idiot in a commodore was tailgating me through 3 suburbs before I got the shits, kicked back a couple of gears and tried to shake him. Turns out it was an unmarked copper. He should have pulled me over the second I went over the limit but instead he switched his lights on when I was 82kmh over the limit

so he forced you too speed up to 82 ks over the limit mate you choose to put ya foot down thay wasent on ya bumper pushing you along when someone sits on my arse i slow right down to about 20 ks below the sped limit it usually pisses them of so they either go round ya or they turn off either way you aint gunn get done for speeding

I was young & dumb. Just got my nice new sports car so I wanted to show off. Im more wiser now however :D

I would have taken it to court tbh.

If the guy was tailgating you for 3 suburbs, then had a go at you (no way you would have gotten 82km/h over the limit - in ANY speed range zone - if he wasn't going with you), he was clearly baiting you.

You aren't allowed to encourage it, he was racing along with you - thats bullshit.

Yes you were on your p's.

No you probably wouldn't have got off.

But Yes you would have got the asshole in trouble.

I got done just coming off my p's for a "burnout". The cops were in the McDonalds drivethru, and just because i gave it a little bit more than i should have around a corner, they thought it was funny to book me for it.

I had a supersize lemonade between my legs ffs - how the hell do you powerslide around a corner, and not end up with a wet lap or in the gutter? The cops couldn't even prove that i did a burnout - just had a shitty magistrate.

Best thing of the day was when they were sitting their trying to book me, he's like "we're just working out if we're going to take your car away for 3 months" i replied "i wasn't street racing, there was no-one there to race against there mate, my car is roadworthy - here is the blue slip from 3 days ago, so i'm sorry officer unless the rules have changed in the last 2 weeks, that is not an option."

Smug little prick walked off and spent ~30 minutes in his "big book of fines" looking for stuff to get me with, came up with nothing.

Out of town cops are the worst.

Sorry Leigh I usually don't laugh at Beau's jokes but that was freakin hilarious.

I got my first ticket from that stupid camera on Hindmarsh.....damnit Low200 you should have said something =P

Kiddin!

Biggest fine I had was $500-odd for doing 42 at the back end of hindmarsh - really, really stupid. Was only 18yo at the time... had one <15 (which was a crock - but easier to wear it) the year after and nothing since *touch wood*.

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
