It's weird. I use Firefox.

Instead of the image I get "IPB Image" written there.

The other weird thing is that sometimes I might post in the thread that this happens in and then the images appear.

Other times they never appear.

I've even seen 1 image and several "IPB Image" in the same post, in other words, they are posted in the same way and I can see some but not others.

Also I know it's not just me. People will post 'hey look at these pics' and about 5 people go 'oh cool nice pics' and another couple of people go 'I can't see them'.

It's not a problem with his internet.

It's a problem with the thumbnailing software for the server. If you click on the link it sometimes comes up with the full sized image.

That depends if he's talking about SAU Attachments, or just hotlinked images

He's just referring to this forum, as his title states. I've seen this too, but it's been more stable the last week or so.

You missed my point completely

I could attach an image using SAU

OR, I could host it on my site, and put it here with tags

I see what you mean. Let me clarify then.

If you hot link it with img tags it'll display as per normal. However if you use the attachment feature on the forum the thumbnail will appear as [iPB Image].

That is a classic symptom of image rendering software (such as gkimage) on the server losing it's association with the forum or going down.

Actually it has happened in both ways but more generally stuff that is linked to.

That's a problem with your internet, the host of the image, OR they have hotlink protection on the image host

i go with anti-leech hotlink protection.

here's a fake hotlink where nothing exists:

http://www.theresnolinkhere.com/nolink.jpg

and when placed in IMG tags, you get:

nolink.jpg

same thing would happen if the image was made unavailable by the host.

i have been seeing some thing that just says IPB Image or IPB IMG cant remember which one..

with the SAU bannerr avatars pictures etc...

and on two seperate computers two seperate internet connections./

also when images are being posted they show up as a tiny thumbnail instead of the full image untill I post some thing..

see the before and after shots for an example of that

Also, to make things even trickier, our images are hosted in the US (while other files are in Australia) so if there is a slight delay getting the images when the page is loaded, then you'll get that text. Usually an F5 will fix it.

Ahh so maybe that's it, a delay in the image being available so the browser assumes it's not coming and displays without the image. Is there a setting somewhere on SAU or our browsers where we can give it longer to download?

I just started a thread with I think 5 pics all hosted in the same place (not here) and when I went beack to the thread to check for replies one of the pics was missing.

And then I went back there in the middle of typing this and everything is displaying correctly.

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
    • heh, aint no R32 ever meeting modern targa cage rules unless the driver is veeeery short OP, good luck with the sale, since its already in the land of freedom I'm sure you will find a good buyer.
    • meh, it was a good video, clear about the issue and how he dealt with it. A bit heavy on the RTV and very brave to put an RB in anything without rebuilding it first, but otherwise I thought it was good Dose, I'm not sure that having the pickup forward is a big issue; yes of course the oil could shift under brakes but the sump should never be empty enough for that to be a problem (unless you also have a higher volume oil pump, and that oil can't return from the head to the sump quickly enough)
