Recommended Posts

3RD BATCH SUBMITTED 29/08/2006... 4TH BATCH DONE 10/10/2006

Hi All,

Following the success of 1st & 2nd batch of RDA slotted rotors group buy (See previous group buy here: Previous Group Buy), the RDA Group Buy is back by popularity. All rotors are supplied by RDA Australia's head office in Keysborough. Currently there are two types of rotors to choose as below:

Standard Slotted Rotors

Grooved Dimpled (Dimpled & Slots) - Gold Passivated - more rust resistance

More info can be found here: RDA Brakes Products

Also, I have attached a zip file of RDA disc rotor part number for Nissan cars (Download and open Zip file, then open the XLS file, and just click read-only at the password prompt).

Important Info

For pricing, I will only quote (discounted price per pair incl. GST) strictly via pm, as RDA has requested me not to post the discounted pricing to general public on an open forum as they also have to protect the interests of their authorised dealers and branches. When you receive my quote via pm, it is for your car and for your eyes only, kindly do not post those prices on other forums.

The following is what we have for most Nissans (S=Sloted/G=Grooved & Dimpled):

1. R32 GTS-t/Z32 300ZXTT: F=909S/G 280mm, R=908S/G 297mm (Front can be used for S15 Silvias)

2. R32 GTR (early models): F=7926S/G 296mm, R=908S/G 297mm

3. R33 GTS-t: F=7693S/G 296mm, R=908S/G 297mm

4. R32 GTR (late model)/R33 GTR/R34 GTR: F=7701S/G 324mm, R=7702S/G 300mm

5. S15 Silvia: F=909S/G 280mm, R=906S/G

At the moment we could not get any 310mm front RDA Slotted rotors for R34 GT-T, so R34 GT-T owners will have to find their rotors from DBA.

Once there are more than 10 people I will submit these as 1 batch. Deliveries all around Aust in 2-3 bus days is $25 flat rate per order (up to 3 pairs of rotors in one delivery pack).

3rd batch is now open until Friday 29/09/2006. Pm me for quote and if you're ready to transfer payment, as soon as I have 10 people I start submitting the order to RDA, e.g. Wednesday, then you may get your rotors by Friday, so don't wait till last minute if you need it faster.

Regards,

Rianto

So far within the first couple of hours I've got roughly around 6 people very interested.

If 10 people minimum are reached by Monday, I may submit 3rd batch sooner... The rest will be in 4th batch (and so on)

Forgot to mention, when you've done your transfer, please provide me with delivery details. No PO Box addresses though as most road couriers will not do PO Box deliveries. (most rotors are too heavy to be handled by Australia Post).

Regarding delivery, generally it's 2-3 business days. So if I submit the order Wednesday morning, they get shipped out Wednesday evening or Thursday depending on stock availability, and they get delivered by Friday. But from the previous 1st & 2nd batches, some of the delivery took 1 business day and sometime only less than that depending your location (rural or metro, etc).

can you pm me the price for a set of Grooved Dimpled (Dimpled & Slots) - Gold Passivated - more rust resistance for my s15 thanks

stuart (already have some on the R32)

Nightcrawler, not my intention to be unfair, but as I wrote in the first post unfortunately RDA do not currently have a part number for R34 GTT.

i got my rotors out of group #2 today. they look the part thanks for such a great group buy.

anyone that is hesitent about getting a set than dont wory just get them. best value for money.

I STILL haven't gotten mine yet?!?!?!

Are you going to chase these up for me or what?!?!? You closed the other thread straight after my post i said i hadn't got them?!?! Wats going on?

51OWW, calm down. I'm not closing the other thread, it's still open and you can still reply on it. I'm not doing anything dodgy here, as you can see the other people have received theirs.

Since you have not received it by today, I will follow up with RDA and see if yours have been delivered or not yet. Maybe the courier tried to deliver but no one was home? I'm sending you a pm to confirm that the address you provided was correct.

That's alright Chris, as I can understand your order was one of the more expensive ones... I'm sure it's just a matter of delivery, as if no one is home and the courier could not deliver it (need to be signed), they will take it back to the depot and reschedule delivery again. That happened when I orderd some blinds/curtains for my new house, I missed the delivery and waited for almost a week before they have another van going to my area. And that was with TNT.

That is true. If you have an accommodating work place (i.e. no overly stringent boss, or you're the owner or in hi management no one dares to step your toe), then getting it sent to work is easier as courier operates during business hours.

Morning update:

The following transfers have been confirmed as of 26/09/2006 08:00am:

- Silver gts-t (Front R32 Gts-t slotted pair 909S)

- AWDMAT (Rear R32 Gts-t slotted pair 908S)

- woolls (Rear R33 Gts-t slotted pair 908S)

- igota33 (Front R33 Gts-t slotted pair 7693S)

Glad to hear that. :-)

Evening update:

The following people and order are confirmed:

- Silver gts-t (Front R32 Gts-t slotted pair 909S)

- AWDMAT (Rear R32 Gts-t slotted pair 908S)

- woolls (Rear R33 Gts-t slotted pair 908S)

- igota33 (Front R33 Gts-t slotted pair 7693S)

The following people and order are to waiting on payment clearance:

- turbo87 (Front R33 Gts-t slotted pair 7693S)

- psshht (Front R33 Gts-t slotted pair 7693S)

If any of you feel that you may not be home when courier attempt delivery, please pm me your daytime contact number so they can call you. We had a couple of people from 2nd batch whose rotors get delayed because there was no phone number for the courier to call. Let's make this group buy a lot better this time.

    • Here's the chart for fuel pressure vs. current draw, assuming your base fuel pressure is 3 bar and you run like 0.5bar boost on WOT, you should only momentarily hit 9amps here and there. (Ignore my prev post, I cannot read a chart these days it seems)
    • Those comp test results are not hideous. Whether they are accurate or not (ie, when that comp tester says 140 psi, is the real pressure120, 140 or 160?) is unknown to us. The state of the battery used to crank it over is unknown, etc etc. Many people around here would say that the absolute values and the spread are perfectly fine to just add boost and keep going. I personally would be happier with a narrower spread than that, but even the diff between 125 and 145 is not terrible. That one cylinder at 125 though, has probably copped some damage relative to the others. You should inspect the valves seeing as you've got it open. Do you know how to measure installed ring gaps? That, and an inspection of the rings themselves, is how you will determine whether they need to be replaced. If you're not good to do these things, take the block and the pistons and rings to a shop that is, and ask them for the go/no-go on them. Do the bores need a hone at all? If so, you might well be justified in getting some different pistons in order to get away from the ring supply problem. Whether you're happy to spend a lot more money right now, on more gear, rather than less money, but an amount that looks stupid given that you will only get a handful of rings in exchange for that money, is for you to decide.
    • also possibly backed up to my filler and shat down it! 🤣
    • Ok so i would love some advice here please, i purchased an R33 a few months back and its had a few mods done to the engine, its an RB25det running a Master ECU, 1200cc injectors, bigger turbo, oil cooler, oil filter relocation kit, Spool H-beam rods, acl/ross pistons. When i removed the motor from the vehicle (as its getting a respray) i thought i would compression test it and these are the following results. Cylinder 1-145psi, Cylinder 2-143psi, Cylinder 3-125psi, Cylinder 4-145psi, Cylinder 5-140psi, Cylinder 6-135psi this test was done with the motor on the ground and powering up the starter motor. I dropped the sump and found broken oil squirters on cylinder 3,5 and 6. I was told my rings are probably worn so i stripped the motor completely to get a new set of rings for it. The trouble is no one has these rings anywhere and they have to be custom made by Ross over in the states and will cost about $600+$200 delivery. My question is how can i tell if my rings are at fault and if they are still ok and is this price ok for a set of rings?
