are you serious??? can you get out of it?

man this sucks, everyone is dropping out. Mick has pulled out, due to money reasons, but im trying to help him with that. R3sp3ct is out and now Terminal is out too!

well on the bright side, it means less mobile chicanes on the circuit for me!!!

Mate i tried everything to get out of it, and the only answer i got from my missus was tears and yelling.... so i don't think i can get out of it.

Just a quick question...Would having my rear suspension lower than the front cause me to under steer?? and what would happen if the front was lower than the rear?

The reason i ask is coz when going through a corner a little quick its feels like the front is a little lose and i think its coz my rear is lower than the front causing it to take weight off the front.

Edited by R3sp3ct

Weight should be the same, due to gravity only acting one way, down. It could be center of mass being different. Anyways, normally when you come into a corner, you normally brake or slow down and the weight shifts to the front anyways. Or is your rear suspension really saggy and does your front end lift off the ground when you accellerate out of a corner?

You could check your toe and tyres. Why is your front higher than rear?

Why is your front higher than rear?

I was playing with my rear coilovers coz i dont need a C spanner to adjust them but the fronts are to hard so their still and the top setting. I havent had time to put the rear back to make it level...im lowering the front for saturday anyway so might leave the rear.

Well ive got Lukes wheels on the rear and it looks f**king awesome, only problem is i think one of my shocks is leaking but i dont give a f**k im going tomorrow.

Pretty much ready just got to get food and water ready...anyone else know of any essentials besides all the car necessities?

Sure is...

For those who are coming have a read of this... http://wakefieldpark.com.au/index.cfm?page...718097776edoras

I know we'll hear it all tomorrow but still a little bit of study to make our day as safe and fun as we can :)

EDIT: Just checked the weather and its "meant" to be 14 tomorrow so engines will be a little more happy

What a bloody awesome day!!! everyone had a great time and did really well. i must say, i didn't know that lee was such a good rally driver! he spent more time in the dirt than on the track!!!

HA HA! jks... but i was impressed when you tried to take a shortcut at turn 1!!! and poor old r3sp3ct, 1st lap out he hit a rabbit on the main straight doing 100kph+! smashed his bar up good. bad luck mate...

we got some great pics too, so FoX, feel free to post em up... all in all, a good day was had by all. looking forward to the next one now. 8th Nov, SAU-VIC vs SAU-NSW! bring it on....

haha i only went off twice and one didnt really count as it was like 2 seconds on the dirt then back on... the second one yea that was a bit of cross country just lucky that it was all flat and the part i went off linked up back on the course... note to self when braking from 175+km's with a corner coming up fairly quickly get setup a little earlier and stop paying attention to luke who is bearing down on your ass haha

As said it was a great day appart from the rabbit incident and for anyone who has not done it i highly suggest it some of the best fun you can have legally in your car. thanks to all who came along including andrew (superfly) who came up with us in the moring for a look and then mick and steve who came up later on.

Oh forgot to mention there was a shit load of evo's there too an unreal blue evo 9, a nice yellow 8 and that silver one was also insane

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
