hmmm... close to 4k with the GCG - i disagree.

Having been in Bass_Junky's car... i can say it has a fark load of mumbo @ 4k. As opposed to "coming on" at "4k"

That thing is as responsive as a stock turbo with an extra ~50rwkw

If you ask me, the GCG, cost vs gain... is the best bang for buck (~250rwkw) money can buy.

Everything else is proportionatly worse... meaning, one might not be "too bad" but there is "better" out there.

Its all budget dependant Phil.

Cheers - ash

very very right ash, i dont have the cash for the gcg or i will go that one, or even get a 3040 externally gated and pump over 250kw. But i think the slide highflow is "alright" considdering its just a small upgrade, and not a permanent mod. Its something i want to have fun with then ill go the big mother setup.

i definetely aggree that bass junkys car mumbo jumbo's all day and night and that the turbo he has will be a pretty aggressive piece of material.

Having said i want to go for the slide highflow, it is better than the one i have now, and i want over 230rwkw and close to 250rwkw for now, as i will be drifting car with high revs it will be pretty good all in all.

is that in reply to my post?

I was talking about the slide turbo. >_<

just in defence of the KKR turbos, i think its amazing that they have actually built a china turbo to last more than 10 mins!

furthermore, my friends RB25 powered laurel made 290hp at the wheels yesterday with the following modifications

fresh RB25 stock

stock injectors

KKR 430

FMIC

Exhaust

Nismo FPR

GTR pump

Apex PFC

Stock manifold

info on the KKRs?

They are cheaper than new turbos should be

my buddy bolted one straight onto his motor with no mods and it pulls hard,

it hasnt died (yet)

it doesnt blow smoke (yet)

yeah the wastegate design is questionable, but his doesnt spike more than 1 or 2 psi on 1 bar. which is acceptable considering he's using a bleeder valve.

do those highflow turbos really make those numbers???

cos they are good numbers! and so cheap!

When you need to purchase the "Otomoto" dump, and its not a direct bolt on (thier own website, and other threads have been over this)

The overall cost to get a KKR onto a car is around $1500-$1700 depending.

IMO that suddenly makes spending the extra few hundred on something better pretty easy to stomach.

Sure the Chinese Turbo's are getting better.

Running them on a lightly tuned car with no demands is fine.

But if your thinking of further mods in the future, realiability might be a problem.

So I agree with Ash, spend the extra bucks for a proven formula .

Cheers :D

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
