oi - those pics aren't from last year! I know cause I was there and we ran Conrod Supersprint and Mountain Straight Hillclimb - there's pics there of the Esses Hillclimb. Plus I don't recognise those cars in the pics.

Mountain Straight Hillclimb is better than the Esses Hillclimb too. I did the Esses Hillclimb in 03 in my old Datsun club car and apart from the dipper (in reverse direction) it was a bit ordinary. Mountain Straight Hillclimb on the other hand is awesome! for one thing you're running correct direction, and all those fast blind corners up through reid and sulman park - just awesome! Or maybe I just like it cause I managed to jag a 1st in class and 3rd outright on that after being totally outgunned on the Conrod Supersprint run the day before, finishing 11th outright.

oh, and last year the CoC was talking about plans to run 3/4 track for 2007 if they can get approval. I have no idea if that is still on the cards, but that was the talk at the post event trophy presentation. He said the plan was to start where the Mountain Straight Hillclimb starts near the winery, and finish at the bridge just after the Chase, entering the pits. If that happens I'll be making the trip down again for sure!

Can someone help me with filling out my event forms?

i dont really want to stuff it up - ive emailed the club but no answer yet -

hahaha yes i am teh suck!

I havent got the forms with me at work, ill post when I get home steve and let you know, just from memory I think its the classes, payment, and something else....I have a memory like a gold fish

also,

the bits where...

ok - im guessing i fill out the "class" speed event"

and not the motokharna or the kharnacross sections?

and just want to confirm what class im in , type 3 but with the classification with force induction - it would be over 3000cc correct?

(2.5 x 1.7)

Well this is the bit for classes:

Type 1 Road registered cars with no modifications.

Type 2 Road registered cars with limited modifications.

Type 3 Modified cars including 3J Club Cars (as per the current CAMS Manual)

Type 4 3D Sports Sedans (as per the current CAMS Manual) and all type 1, 2, 3 or SV including kit cars, prototypes or limited production cars running on slicks.

Type 5 Open Wheelers as defined under 1st Category Racing Cars (as per the current CAMS Manual) and cars not conforming to Types 1, 2, 3, 4 or SV.

Type SV Road registered kit cars (Lotus 7 Replicas, Cobras etc), Limited Compliance Cars and modified road registered vehicles having modifications in excess of that allowed in Types 1 and 2 running on commercially available tyres.

So....if you have a 32 gtr on road tyres you could claim class 1 or 2 since they had full compliance, as long as its not too "modified", so say standard turbo for instance. You cant claim class 3 unless you are running a restrictor (well you could but you may get reclassified)

Otherwise it is SV

As for capacity it is engine x 1.7 for turbos so everyone is in over 3l

I guess it depends on your power, I didn't get it with my old gtst.

And last Time I did it there was no-where near 100 entries, and I got 6 runs each day....which is a lot for a hillclimb.

Also, don't forget its only $115 each day, its a great weekend away and not hard on the car.

Don't be too sure of that..... being a local resident and a member of the BLCC, there is no time to waste, last year entry's had to be quick.... espessially for the supersprint, good fun day for drivers and spectators, so if we get people turning up over the weekend it would be great for a meeting and perhaps drinks out on the town on sat night........ will drag the boys out for the weekend and be at the supersprint and hill climb (maybe spectator though)

last year we got 5 runs on the Supersprint and 4 runs of the Hillclimb. get your entries in early as it is a popular event.

have they changed the class system? Last year they told me AWD turbo vehicles were automatically in Type SV.

BTW we are going to enter the race car in class 2 and see how we go....the only modification is coilovers and exhaust....

similar to my car - coilovers (no camber correction), exhaust and Mines 'chipped' ECU are the only mods, with 225/50*16 RE55's on the standard rims. Be interesting to see your times.

Yep the scruitineers can confirm :(

Last year they told me AWD turbo vehicles were automatically in Type SV

Well.....thats not what their Supp Regs say ;) But to be honest I won't fight about it, will just point out that I meet their published regs for Class 2 then give up......as an aside to all this I have a real problem with how modern/import vehicles are treated by CAMS, there is no reason to have different regs just because they are so much quicker than other road cars - sooner or later they need to move on from the 70s to the 90s.

But one of the best ways to show the import community are serious about real motorsport is to get along to events like this iin big numbers, compete well and have a great time :P

So...what times did you do last year (can't see them on racetime or nasoft).....we need something to aim for ;)

I'm not too familiar with the NSW classes - we don't use the type 1-4 and SV classifications up here. I just did what i was told when entering. If the supp regs specify it this year that's all good. I agree, modern import cars should be treated the same as any other road car. Although i don't mind being put in AWD turbo class like we have up here for hillclimbs - lets the 2wd guys get a trophy too ;)

Bathurst last year was my first event in the GTR, but I don't think that slowed me down any - except maybe the launches on Saturday because I was a bit hesitant to drop the clutch on the start line...

They have last year's results up on BLCC website. SV is right down the bottom of the results - you'll see they stuffed up the capacity classes and had some WRX and turbo Skylines in the 2001-3000cc class too.

Conrod Supersprint http://www.blcc.com.au/dmdocuments/supersp...%2003.12.05.pdf

my best was 52.12. was awkward coming onto the pit straight in Murray's corner - I was staying in 3rd, but I might have been better off using 2nd. You should be easily able to hold it flat into the kink - I think I was hitting about 220, but its hard to check the speedo there so i could be wrong!

Mountain Straight Hillclimb http://www.blcc.com.au/dmdocuments/hillcli...%2004.12.05.pdf

my best was 52.00 which I was pretty happy with considering most people were going a fair bit slower on the Hillclimb than they did on Conrod. But another run or two would have been nice - I think I could still have dropped some more time off that. Its a fantastic piece of road and really gives you an insight into what those V8 Supercar drivers have to do up there!

Harry

Well I'm ruling myself out this one. After doing supersprint at EC on the weekend I need more power,,, 133 kw's at the rears just doesn't cut it. I will be there to watch though. Evil,,,as Duncan said don't worry about the classes,,, they will put you in the one they think is right.

Neil.

Cheers Neil,

Ill just send it off as is :O

How did you guys pay?

Oh and Neil, its not how much power your car has, its how drunk you get at night that counts :P

Ive tried calling the car club but it just keeps going to the fax (says phone/fax) and they havent emailed me back - so just wondering how do you about payment for entry?????

    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice. Thanks  Looking at this plenum for now below
