Website for kit

I sent a quick email to powerplay who entertained the idea of lowing the price a bit if purchasing a few kits.

I'm looking at the "34 GTR V-Spec Style" Kit.

is $2850 with FRP Bonnet, not sure on price in bulk, thought i'd see if anyones interested before I waste their time.

Let me know.

Based on research I performed some time ago(includes direct contact with east bear) I found that East Bear has 2 variants, thus make sure you are being quoted on the right one as $2850 sounds too cheap (given that the GTR bonnet is 1k alone) I was misquoated and realised after speaking to east bear directly that the quoted price was too good to be true.

The true GTR style front end comes with bonnet, hinges etc, grill, bar, small or large lip as per below;

http://www.east-bear.co.jp/aeroparts/m-piece/R34gts-r.html

Here is a shot of the large lip setup

Small lip setup

http://www.east-bear.co.jp/aeroparts/m-piece/img/R34mp01.jpg

and here is the cheaper setup that from memory I believe did not require bonnet change!?

Anyway if you can justify the petrol bill for an R34 then this is an awesome kit!

in theory with the cheaper setup you do still need to replace the bonnet, basically the main difference between the two setups is that the more expensive one is a whole new front bar with added on bottom lip and new bonnet

the cheaper setup uses the current gtt bonnet with added on bottom lip and a piece called the 'top mole' basically because the gtr bonnet is cut straight at the end and the gtt bonnet has the piece folded over filling the gap as such the top mole fills in this gap when combined with a gtr bonnet to give that gtr look

after doing the numbers via the powerplay website the difference in price is as follows

r34mp03ah1.jpg

$2,850

r34nomfs02dt5.jpg

Top Mole = $380

Front Spoiler = $570

Bonnet = $1216

= $2,166

hope this helps

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for your enquiry.

Yes, the East Bear body kit is a perfect fit. The kit is made from plastic injection moulding & very high quality. We have fitted many of them & the customers are extremely happy. Due to the high quality of the finish, there is very little preparation for painting, we also have painters phoning us to say how easy it is for them to paint 7 fit.

The only pictures I have are of the kit actually on the car.

I would need a 50% deposit on order.

Delivery would be approx 4-6 weeks as they need to come from Japan.

The kit comes complete, front bumper, front bumper lower lip, front indicator lenses, bonnet & hood stays, all nuts, bolts, brackets etc for fitting.

Kind regards

Jo-Ann

-Thats is an e-mail from PowerPlay themselves, I have cut a few personal details from the email.

not interested in the gtr kit but very keen on the bonnet lip

The bonnet lip (or mole) is useless if you don't get the GTR bonnet, unless ur thinkin of cutting into ur existing bonnet.

So there is a bit of interest in their products.

I've had a couple PM's of people wanting exact prices.

I am going to ask one of their sales guys/gals to see if they can jump on here and maybe put up some pricing for say 1/5/10 kits etc. So we know exactly how much for how many.

"We have fitted many of them & the customers are extremely happy."

as far as i knew, i'm the only one in Oz with this front bar at the moment...

EDIT: can confirm quality. You get what you pay for. I just had the car resprayed, and they're like. Dude, you've got a very, very good quality front bar there

Hey Daniel,

Do you have any more pics of the kit?

If so could you please post them up?

Thanks mate.

powerplay imports sell GTR bonnets with vents but i dont exactly like the style.

im planning to get this type of bonnet and yes hopefully cutting through it.

heres the type i want

can someone get me a GB price on a bonnet lip with a GTR bonnet and one without

SS8 gohan....ur cars bloody crazi man...looks mad...can we get some side shots and some close ups of the ass lol

SS8_Gohan, that looks the goods champ :) Get more photos up!

I ordered a DO-LUCK front bar to suite GTT yesterday, so hopefully get that next week and get it sprayed up, should look the goods.

Does anyone know where you can get a pair of Cannards from?

I'm looking at getting the Rear Bar and Side Skirts from this package.

Please enquire about pricing on this.

I'm also investigating sourcing direct from Japan. Just waiting on freight quotes..

I would love this kit in fibreglass for $1,000 complete front end .... the nearly $3k price tag plus $1k to paint is just too much.

    • haha this shit box doesn't drink coolant, for now       Let me guess, they make heaps of power, use the car for straight line driving and don't care about noise

    • Hello everyone. I've recently started the research into R34 GTR front bits and running into eye watering prices. On the plus site it looks like some places make 'replacement' fender liners for these cars. At eye-watering-but-less than stock prices. I also noticed there's plenty of diffuser options available too. What I would like to know is if my following assumptions are correct. 1) The OEM guard liners are actually only 'half' the liner. They go together with the OEM brake vents which are a separate item which looks to be quite a large 'panel' that is part of the liner. The GTR bumper has bolt holes along the front. I assume the ones in the vent correspond to the ones the OEM liner does not have (circled?)   2) The V-Spec front diffuser supplants the brake ducts in the above item. I am assuming these still work with the guard liners as there's no alternate part that I'm aware of. I don't see how they go together, so I'm making the assumption that they have to, somehow. I know the center splash guard is different on the V-Spec (and is the price of the damn diffuser alone). How does the liner interact with this? 3) There's alternate front diffusers that do away with it all. Annoyingly, a lot of the clones and CF different ones... have no brake ducts on them. I like the idea of them though. My brakes get hot on the track. These alternate diffusers are a lot cheaper than plastic splash guards. I'm assuming you don't have to/aren't supposed to remove guard liners to run a diffuser. I suspect that quite a few people actually do not run the guard liner because with a front undertray you're getting a lot of 'splash' guarding anyway, and most people remove liners given they're probably running a pretty aggressive setup with a diffuser at the front. It would also be nice to know if anyone has ever run the 'reproduction' guard liners and know whether the fitment is OEM quality or "OEM Quality". Example: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/356254671561 https://carbonetics.net/products/nissan-skyline-r34-gtr-plastic-front-wheel-arch-set Is this knowledge still around?
    • Really, effort is pretty low. You hand fistfuls of cash over to someone else and pick it up when done...   And at least this shitbox isn't drinking coolant right?
    • And most chargers that most DIY people own would put bugger all power back into the battery between cylinders. I've always done it with jumper packs/second battery connected. And that's on any car.   Because race car, and wanting the lightness.  At least in an R33, putting a bigger battery in can at least help shift the weight balance backwards
