Hey guys,

What did everyone get up too last night?

I came out to my car and found that someone wanted to key my car.

It goes from on the bonnet in circles all the way down to the passenger side to just past the rear wheel.

It is f**ked have to pay $1400.00 excess and then pay a extra $400.00 next year.

Why?

Man that sucks hard!!

Insurance is a rip. You are sometimes better off getting third party property damage instead.

The amount you pay each year plus the excess is usually more than most small accidents. Paying full comp, sometimes you could have bought your car over again in as little as 3 years! Unless you right your car off totally it is better not to have comp. I have done the sums on this & it is true.

In the last 9 years (since I bought my first import) I have saved about $27000 in insurance premiums by not going for full comp. My current import is only worth $7500, so even if I right it off I am still way better off. Thats how insurance companys make money!

I'll shut up now.

Yeah i know what your are saying but at the monment i'am still better off as i have only had my car for 7 months so all up i have payed $1600 a year premium and will have to pay $1400 excess and they are going to have to spray the entire bonnet and the entire left side of the car as the scratch mark is deep, like to the metal, so i'am not sure how much it will cost to fix.

I might be better off getting the whole car done in a different colour and me paying whatever extra it will cost.

when i had all the paint work and panel beating done on mine i had 8 panels painted and panel beated and cost me $1200. and the job was bloody perfect. maybe you should shop around a bit for how much everywhere can do it becaise you might be able to get it done cheeper then the excess payment

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
