hey all

i got a mate who is a member of ausrotary.com and is going to organise a weekend in mansfield and do a few runs up and down Mt Buller over a weekend. Its about 2-2.5 hours from melb. Would there be many guys from SAU that would be interested in spending a weekend in the hills? The drive up is mad fun and once up the top there are massive empty carparks to have some fun in without cop hastles....

would be some traffic but it is minimal, mabie 2-3 cars cummin down wen headin up on average.

Just thought i would post up on here and see if its worth organising a few skylines!?

cheers guys

brett

do you mean, that this will be a proper event.. with closed roads and the like?

I'm not really interested in losing my license or killing innocent people while they're going on a nice country drive....

too dangers... :O

just spoke to mate then and apparently we can get the road closed if we get enough people to it, i would be suprised but will find out for sure. he has booked a joint to eat and drink up there, big pizza shop with bar etc..... looks like it will be the second weekend in january.... noone else interested?

I'm quite interested, but only if the road gets closed off. I am also not too keen on losing license, and/or killing/injuring/scaring the crap out innocent drivers.

Great roads up there. I did a few buller runs in mid January earlier this year with a few mates on motorbikes, but there is more traffic than expected (well, than i expected anyway).

Fun road to drive. Went up fairly quickly - didn't speed (except for once - to get past a bus). Some corners a waaaaay too sharp to race through if the road isn't closed.

As I'm sure anyone who has done some driving on alpine / mountain roads will be able to tell you - some drivers are scary.

Post back if (when?) you manage to get the road closed. Till then, I don't want to kill someone (or myself) by crashing or swerving, losing traction and going over the 'hey - its a long way down' edge.

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
