hey guys,

some tool parked me in on the weekend which meant i had to reverse of a gutter and i broke the right hand side of my front bar. (where it bolts on just infront of the right wheel)

Want it fixed nicely while still paying a fair price...... how mcuh would one expect?? crack is 2 or 3 inches long and would need respray i assume.. (or maybe i should get touch up paint... )

any suggestions where to get it fixed? i live in the redlands (cleveland) so south east bris would be closer..

i know i could fix it myself but since it has to be painted etc and ive never done it before i think id rather pay someone to do it for me.

been told DMD the image at coopers plains are "fooli sik body kit specialists" lol

cheers,

Zennon

Yeah DMD you cant go wrong mate...not to hard to do yourself if you got a bit of spare time however!

yeah im thinking about it... I've never worked with fiber glass before... (saw a D.I.Y. thread somewhere...)

not sure how i would paint it though... could buy some touch up paint but dont have any spray guns or anything.. might look a little dodgy... although the bar isn't like in the best condition anyway so maybe i should lol

Gun metal grey isnt to hard find a find with a gun or if your ultra budget get a can of primer a can of the grey and a can of clear and bobs yours uncle you could probably have it all done for around 50 looking alrightish or 250-300 depending on damage for dmd to do it!

kustom fx in underwood (3208 0832) they just fixed up my bodykit and did a great job

yeah DMD cant do it this week and I want it done before sunday's cruise so Ill try Kustom Fx...

how much work did they do to yours Konrad (wasn't just the front was it?) and how much did they charge you? you've got a 33 i assume?

hey nice car :) how come i havnt seen it around yet?,, does it come out often?

do u live near like defiance or deviance? .. no one coudl forget that name how come i can? lol..

its out practically every day, but i'm often out of town so it can be seen cruising exotic places like toowoomba, emerald and bundaberg :ninja:

no idea what you're getting at with the defiance thing, doesn't sound like anything near where i live (logan)

DMD originally did my Monkey Warehouse front bar (supply and fit. Was very displeased, especially for the price. For $500 more than what they charged just to suplly and fit my front bar, i bought side skirts, a rear bar, and GTR air vents, and had them all painted and fitted (re-did shit front bar), at Morayfield Smash Repairs. Not known for imports really, but do a lot of things like porches and older cars, reconditioning etc, they are fantastic with bothe steel and fibreglass.

I will second Morayfield smash, as they do good paint work and and body work and have qualified tradepeople...unlike some "specialist" body kit places....

There is also Caboolture Crash...geez all the names sound the same...but anyway they also do a good job

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
