Hey guys,

I just bought a Blitz Racing electrical Oil Pressure Gauge second hand, but it did not come with the wiring diagram, so im a little stuck. The wiring to the sender is all A-ok, its just trying to sort out what the wires from the back of the gauge. There is the following:

Red:

Black: (earth im guessing)

Blue: Warning light wire (dont know what this would tie into)

Orange:

Yellow:

If anyone has this gauge and knows what wires are what, or knows where to get the wiring diagram, it would be a great help. I have searched the net and googled everything i could think of, as well as going to the blitz website, but i havent had any luck so far.

Thanks for your help peoples.

Tony

i couldnt find your model in the blits website....

heres the link...

http://www.blitz.co.jp/products/products.htm#01

use the google language tools if u want to translate any website or any words in jap to english....

in pdf...just highlight & copy from the pdf to the google language tools and translate them....

its as easy as that..

And if you can't translate it try hooking the different wires up to a household battery (probably one of those big square ones) this will establish which two are for illumination. Red is power black is earth and the other wire will be oil pressure signal.

If don’t want go hacking into the wiring harness near the cpu, just take your dash out and tap into the factory oil pressure gauge wire. Then hook the two illumination wires up to the lights to the cigarette lighter or the dimmer ((which goes to the dash (it will be the really dodgy looking wiring because all importers are really dodgy)). Then final just hook the red and black up to constant power like the factory clock or something.

Hope this helps.

Hey guys thanks for your replies.

Just to clarify, all the wires for the oil pressure sensor are separate to these 5 wires. So that means i have two wires that i cant figure out what they are for!!

Obviously there will be power, earth, and illumination. But what else could there be? The gauge has a warning light, but im sure that would also just run off the power wire.

Anyone with a Blitz gauge or instructions would be a life saver!!

hey bud i have that gauge and three other blitzs gauges exactly like that...im not entirely sure cos i havent looked at the wiring for ages i could take a look at it on the weekend for you..im pretty sure the yellow is for when u turn your head lights on either orange or blue do just the red needle (i think) and then i think the orange is for the warning light but unsure where it goes.....ill just have a look at mine over the weekend for you

    • I'm actually not sure - I think it was "Stealth Performance" (It really is near impossible to find a FEMALE 1/8BSPT to 1/8NPT male at ALL) but having the thing leveraged on a 90 degree angle on a small aluminium fitting is not too smart. Also in not too smart, I've drilled out the center of the broken fitting so there's maybe 0.00001mm of thread to bite into, so yeah. I may have to get it drilled/tapped/plugged entirely. Given I could conceivably tap a thread/adapter/pressure line in any point in the oil system I suppose it's feasible to run a line to the Nissan Sensor to keep the dash working. Do these exist in AN fittings and the like? Like an AN fitting that has a NPT (or other?) thread as well for putting a sensor in?
    • I would agree.  There will be an amount of boost you could run safely with an otherwise factory system, but it would be low enough to not be worth the cost.  And if you are reliving your 20s, you know a 'little bit' was never enough. Personally, if I didn't want to spend the money, then stick with NA bolt-ons, and maybe a tune.
    • Fuark, at least the motor survived. What brand was the fitting that snapped?
    • Wrong question. There's no point in spending the rather large sum of cash and effort to add turbo, without taking it to the "sensible" limit of the motor itself. If you have to upgrade injectors, etc, then so be it. That is a tiny fraction of what it will cost you to turbo it.
    • Measure voltage at the starter solenoid terminal when the key is at start and it has clicked. If it is really low, then the suspicion falls on the ignition switch (contacts or wiring thereof) as causing a voltage drop instead of sending enough volts to throw the solenoid all the way to engage the starter itself. If it is a decent voltage, then the suspicion is on the solenoid. Might have s horted coil, or might hva dirty contacts. Rip the starter off, dismantle, clean up contacts and inspect winding. It might not be possible to see if there is a short in the winding though. I have a spare starter here that I could measure the resistance of the coil, as a guide to about what it should be, if you need a comparison. <parts hoarder>No you cannot have it.</parts hoarder>
