Hi Guys,

Long time reader and almost first time poster,

I've been reading the site for quite a while now and been on a couple of the cruises but alas the time has come for me to sell my baby - As I plan to go to europe in 3 months.

What i'm after is just some help from you guys to determine what my car is worth. Since I bought it, i've never really looked around at pricing on other cars or even into selling it.

Its:

1997 Series 2 R33 M-Spec (Has the usual, full electrics, airbags, climat control, hicas etc)

Bog stock

128,000kms - Still drives like new. (127,300 at the moment and will have its next service before I sell it.)

5spd manual

Heavy duty clutch - replaced at 97,000

Car was imported by Autoworx at 89,000kms - I am the first owner since car registered in Aus

Standard R33 Rims - These are a bit scratched, Came like that when bought (Tires all still good)

Serviced every 10,000kms and Oil + filter changed every 5000

After market POD filter fitted

After market BOV bought but not fitted

Was dyno'd at 210RWHP

20% tint done by TKO tinting

Front bar needs a respray - stone chip below driving lights has flaked a bit + someone clipped the front bar with a shopping trolly (white mark) - Although I will be getting quotes to get this done before selling if possible

Interior is virtually immaculate - Drivers seat has small cut in it (Came like that - im guessing from getting in and out of the car) and there is 2 or 3 small holes under the passenger side dash from what i guess used to be a mobile phone cradle

Car always garaged

Prob more stuff I can write, but this isnt a for sale thread or anything, just more a way for me to get an idea what to advertise it for $$ wise. I've been "thinking" about selling it for a while but due to how much I love my car i've been putting it off, but now europe is only 3 months off i've gotto make sure I am ready to go..

Cheers

Adam

I was looking at a 96 S2 R33 with FMIC, Apexi AVC-R, ~ 140'000ks, 17" rims, suspesion, body kit, exhaust Turbo Timer and BOV.

Was an Auto and the owner was selling it for $14'500

So your one beeing a 5 speed and 97 model should go for around $16500

At the end of the day its worth what ever somebody is willing to pay you for it.

Start high that way you can drop the price if it doesnt sell, just keep in mind that these cars have dropped a heap.

You can import an R34 for alot less than you think these days!

Good luck with the sale mate!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies so far.

Just wanted to add RE Kushil Abeysinghe

The car has a stereo in it at the moment, with an MP3 deck and sub, the stereo will be removed and replaced with the stereo it came with which isnt bad but doesn't do MP3's and i'll be leaving the wiring in for the amp's etc.

Its also had its timing belt changed at the 100k service

Cheers

    • When you say your cams are 272/262 is that 272in and 262ex?
    • We're arguing semantics. I am saying 45 accel and a 55 deccel ramp are "2 ways". Even a 45 degree ramp and an 89 degree ramp is "2 ways", because it is literally... two ways. The cusco 55/30 ramp is a 2 way. It's two ways. I get it though - in normal nomenclature a "2 way" would be 45/45 or 55/55 or 60/60 i.e the same locking in both directions. And something like 45/65 would be considered "1.5 way". I would then say if we're getting into the nitty gritty then every locking diff is a "2 way" diff and we should not speak in 1.5, or 2 ways but ramp angles instead. Which ofc if one of those ramp angles is 90deg, that side is not doing any locking. :p So Nismo don't obviously sell 3 things. The fact of the matter that they only sell two items really goes to show that there's a 2 way and a "1,5 way" which is really a 1 way. I believe the actual lockup for the 'adjustability' of the GT pro is really just setting preload for when the ramps actually start locking up. It's not changing how much 'wayness' there is. It is (somehow) horribly explained. People just buy whatever diff and go "locks up good bruh" and that's what ends up on socials forever.
    • No, you're wrong, and you've always been wrong about this. The Nismo has 2 sets of openings. One is a real 2-way, and the other is a 1-way. There is no 1.5-way possible with the ramps that they offer. A real 1.5-way does exist. That Cusco stuff I posted is a prime example. If the forward drive ramps are, say 55°, and the overrun ramps are, say, 30°, then you will get about half as much LSD effect on overrun than you do on drive. It is real, it realy works. OK, you're slightly right. The Nismo has 55° and 45° ramps on the 2-way, so it does offer less LSD effect on overrun. But, I think that just means that they've (probably) sensibly established that you do not want actually equal LSD effect on overrun. You just want "quite a lot, but not quite as much as the drive LSD effect".
