I urgently need a Indicator/Wiper/Headligh switch assembly for my R30 as my one cracked when taking my old steering wheel off to replace it with a boss kit & aftermarket wheel.

The crack is ausing the highbeams to stay on ALL the time.

I hope someone can help me. I'm willing to pay whatever is costs to get it sent here. I jsut really need this part ASAP!

Thanks to Everyone!

You have to be kidding George.

You stuck it to us all over your pinched fuel line and now you want our help.

You referred to us all as dopes and that SAU aren't worth talking to and SDU is by far a better group and much more helpful.

You made me offers and then didn't back them up with anything else but hot air, yet you still come on here seeking our help.

I probably have about 10 of what your looking for, but I don't know your worthy of my help, as you! so far, haven't shown any interest in reciprocating.

Why don't you go ask your so fantasticly helpful SDU members for help instead of annoying us here on SAU.

In my humble opinion I think you're an arrogant arse and you should take a long walk off a short pier until at some time in the future you can show you have had a change in attitude, and then you might get a different attitude on this forum. Maybe a Lobotomy might help.

Cheers, D

I have asked on SDU.

Sorry I was so rude in my post about the broken stud, it was rather frustrating waiting so long for a reply on something I wanted minor assistance on.

Is it really nessecary to talk to me like this on the forums?

Cheers/

GEORGE, IF YOU TELL US HOW YOU FIXED THE BROKEN STUD, DENNIS MAY HELP YOU.

I'm going upto the vehicle now to do some work. I'll look at the switch immediately, and then i'll wirte up a broken stuf tutorial :-)

go to ya local wreckers get that assembly outta a nissan patrol its exactly the same....and alot cheaper then repco

He is in NZ and can't get the part there, that's why he is asking here and the patrol unit IS NOT EXACTLY the same. Depends on the model, year etc etc etc.

I have Aust R30, Imported R30, ET Pulsar and Patrol headlight switch assemblies and they can be all different and that's why I asked for the plug & pins connections.

Cheers, D

George,

What the f@#k are you doing about this

You must wonder why we're so critical of you, you ask for help then dissappear into the dust and we don't know or hear from you for weeks & months.

DO YOU WANT OUR HELP OR NOT

Cheers, D

What about the stud, George?

How did you fix it, or is still busted?

Removed anything in the way of the manifolds.

Removed manifolds.

Attempted to remove stud with an easy out but it wouldnt bit.

Drilled out stud with a drill (I dont recommend using a cordless drill, it took at leat 45 minutes)

Purchased new stud and bolt

Tapped new thread into head

Applied loctite to stud and wound in.

Ghostrider: Did you happen to find that swtich?

OK George,

I have no idea what your talking about, as I have a few here and they're all the same.

The picture below shows the plug arrangements and none have 8 pins in any arrangement.

Do you think we could get a bit more specific.

i think he was just counting the indicator plug itself. As that is removable. :)

Spot on Nick.

I'll remove the assembly and get some photos of it asap.

Thanks

George,

If you just want the indicater stalk I can take that off, but I thought you wanted the entire assembly.

Cheers, D

    • If they can dyno them, get them dyno'd, make sure they're not leaking, and if they look okay on the dyno and are performing relatively well, put them in the car.   If they're leaking oil etc, and you feel so inclined, open them up yourself and see what you can do to fix it. The main thing you're trying to do is replace the parts that perish, like seals. You're not attempting to change the valving. You might even be able to find somewhere that has the Tein parts/rebuild kit if you dig hard.
    • Can you also make sure the invoices on the box (And none exist in the boxes) are below our import duty limits... I jest, there's nothing I need to actually purchase and order in. (Unless you can find me a rear diff carrier, brand new, for stupidly cheap, that is for a Toyota Landcruiser, HZJ105R GXL, 2000 year model...)
    • Murphy strikes again! Nothing at all would have gone wrong if you had the tool kit in the car! You'd have just found the clamp loose the next time you went to touch it...
    • I have been being VERY quiet about what you're alluding to, as it is something that ticks me off... The number of cars from factory that run coil overs is HUGE! Most of them these days do... The other part that annoys me, is people saying "Well all the incabin adjustable suspension is illegal by blah blah blah"... If that's the case, then why can I buy a car brand new that can do it if, FULL STOP in cabin adjustable suspension is illegal...   Also, I could just chuck some aftermarket shocks in my car, throw the stock springs on, after my blue slip, dump my super low springs back in. Same shock and spring style setup... Hell, they could also be the same colour springs etc.     I'm voting, BlueSlipper didn't want to touch the above car for some reason. Whether it be some sort of bias against the car, the owner, them maybe having previously done dodgy shit and now they're being super careful in case they get slapped in the face by the Gumbyment again... Find a new blueslip place.   And can confirm as you had said, yes there are holy bibles of vehicle heights, and all sorts of other suspension stuff. Heck your run of the mill mechanic, and tyre shop has access to all of that stuff. It's how they do wheel alignments...
    • Funny story Heading to Sydney this morning on the HWY there was some slow traffic, so I gave it the beans and midway through my overtaking "power run" I lost all power It seems that I missed a hose clamp,  and the MAF and filter went WiFi To make this more problematic, the little tool kit that lives in the boot, is sitting in the sun room at Goulburn......LOL Luckily for me I found a bit of steel on the side of the road that could be used like a rusty and bent flat head screw driver to tighten it up enough that it got me into Sydney, it is now all tight like a tiger with the aid of a 8mm socket Note to self: Use my brain and double check stuff, and always keep that little tool kit in the car for when I have a brain fart
