Is he Gay?

and is that his push bike.............LOL

no he's married with 2 kids :)

tis a motorbike.

don't worry i found it funny, i mean he's in a bike club

and he likes Human Nature, but it's good, gives me some1 else to talk to

about them hehe

heh, just got done for speeding on the way home from work, just past gepps cross heading north, coming into the 80 zone, i accelerated a little early. whoops.

so i pull over stand behind my car, licence in hand and wait for the lady cop to get out of the car.

me: "how ya doin?"

cop: "not too bad thankyou, i dont think youre gonna be having a good night though, the reason im pulling you over, is you were doing 82 in a 60 zone up there, any particular reason."

me: "yeah, has been a long day at work, up at 6 at work at 10, finished fifteen minutes ago (was about 9pm), not much of an excuse i know."

cop: "*laughs*, fair enough then, still gonna have to fine you unfortunately, got your licence?"

*hands over licence, cop starts copying down details."

cop: "occupation?"

me: "dealer."

*cop gives me a "WTF?" look and laughs."

me: "... heh, yeah, i work at the casino, the actual titles 'croupier', but 'dealer' gets a better reaction out of people."

cop: "ill bet, had me going for a second there."

*hands over fine*

cop: "that'll be $280, the payment options are on t... (cutoff)

me: "...you take cash?"

cop: "... you sure you only deal cards?"

*cue more laughing.*

sucks that i got a fine, but it was cool getting a cop with a sense of humour.

i think it would have sucked either way - cool cop or not. what were you driving?

btw my bro's a dealer at the cas as well. and i know a girl who works in the grand/pullman's.

yeah, it still sucks having to pay a fine, but ive got the money set aside to pay for it (the cool thing about not having the time to spend my money), and if im gonna cop a fine, id rather get it from someone whos nice about it then someone whos a c**t about it. it was in the magna...

heh, everyone seems to know someone who works at the casino, names?

Well i think it is only fitting to have my 1000th post take part in the SA Wasteland.

It's been an interesting 1000 posts. And has given me time to reflect and see myself grow.

I started here without even owning a skyline. Then i did own one for about 2 years. Only to sell it to move onto faster and more fun things.

Hopefully by 2000 posts i'll have my dream car realised of having a V35 300GT 4 door.

umm congrats lol. i hope by the time i have 2000 posts ill have my dream car...

i would be happy with a stock 350z, such nice cars!

+1

in other news, driving home from work tonight, getting close to gepps cross, a p plater in an excel tears into the parking lane on to over take people with the associated speeding, and forces his way back into the line of traffic just before he runs up the arse of a parked police car... nothing happens. BAH!

closer to elizabeth im being tailgated by some suit in a new model camry, i slow down to something silly like 20 under the limit and brake check him a few times, he over takes and starts weaving in and out of traffic, and beats me to a redlight, whoopdidoo asshole. once i get to munno para, just as the left lane merges, he comes screaming up the left at about 100, 110 km/h, and ducks back into traffic and over to the right lane without indicating, and the while hes usin his damn mobile.

its funny, i speed, once, lapse in concentration, and i get done for it. f**kwits like these get away with being just plain reckless. how is that fair?

    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
