i was wondering if the running gear from a gtr can fit into a gts coupe or even a four door??

im talkin bout puttin the whole 4wd system into a coupe or four door.

any mods needed to the subframe?(front or rear subframe)

enough room for the engine? transmission? etc etc

how much modification is involved if any??

thanks for any help

It's not just a matter of fitting the mechanicals. The ATTESSA has its own computer and wiring system.

The question has been asked several times before, and the concensus of opinion is : sell what you have, and buy the real thing.

thanks for the replies

blind elk: could u plz point me in the direction of the previous posts?? as i cant find them through the search engine

in the latest hpi magazine there is a r32 4 door from WA which has gtr running gear, this is what got my thought goin through my head.

im more interested in the r32 shape and not so much in the r33 nor the r34

Can't point you at exact posts - I just recall the question being raised on several occasions.

Which is "the latest HPI"? I believe #75 is the latest, and it isn't in there.

lol soz

it was hpi 73

it seems im behind

anyways it was a gts4... so that may make the difference ?

the reason for doin the conversion is because im lookin into buyin a gtr wreck or possibly a track only car n takin as much as i can n puttin all the bits into another chassis

4 door would b the most pratical to me so thats y im leanin towards that option

i still want more info before laying down the cash hence the questions

=)

thanks elk

Yes, the GTS4 will readily accept the GT-R gear, since it runs very similar hardware. I've whacked a Stagea RB25DET in my GTS4 (RB26 was too expensive) - it pushed 180kW out all 4, on 95 octane fuel. I reckon that has to be close to a stock GT-R.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
