Hey all, i am in the middle of getting my r32 gts-t looking flash before i put it in to get a respray and i have decided to put r32 gtr front guards on it. It already has the gtr bonnet and grille and i was just wondering what needs to be changed in order to get these guards to fit? I am under the imperession that the indicators need to be changed...is this true? I am also getting a GTR front bar for it so will i need a genuine one as opposed to the copies that are made for gts-t's if i have gtr guards? Anything i have missed or got wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Ryan

ok so side skirts as well. Yippee!

So i'm looking at.

1) Genuine GTR front bar

2) GTR rio

3) GTR indicators

4) New side skirts

5) Inner guard liners...(yes i am anal haha)

Might have to hit up a import wreckers at some stage and see what the bill is gonna be. Any ideas of where to find a genuine GTR front bar or is it just a matter or keeping your eyes peeled?

Cheers again.

Ryan

Hi guys,

what is "GTR rio"? and if I wanna to do GTR rear guard panels as well, what else do I need?

Cheers

special edition bumper support bars manufactured in brazil.

ok ok they're just a bumper support bar that attaches to the chassis that you attach the bumper to. If youw anna do the rear quarters as well then you'll need a C pillar back quarter panel (can be very expensive)... that's if you wanna do it in metal. Failing that that get fibreglass skins that go on top of the existing GTSt guards from any good chinese made "Drift" bodykit retailer.

Put some front gaurds on mine a while back. Just changed gaurds indicators and wheel arch plastics. if you have fibre glass front bar and side skirts its easy as to remould to suit wider gaurds. as for the rio, you can change it but like is said fibre glass moulding can solve all that. Im pretty sure that jetspeed can solve your rear guard problem, they have a fibre glass wide body kit, much like you see on silvias. It just fits over your metal guard, Whether you mould it or go for the drift pig pot rivit look is up to you. I just had my standard metal guards flared out as far as the could possibly go. Looks realy good. But depends what look you are goin for.

    • And I just realised that that advice is slightly nonsensical for a GTR, because you need 2 of them. But it is otherwise true.
    • Having had a reasonable look at the car, I'll be able to remove the (one time) rams and retract the hinge (they are held in the down location by a tiny (m3?) sacrificial screw) which will get it physically back in shape. From there if you remove the rams you need a resistor to turn off the airbag light (as Mark said, there are plug in kits and I might go that way because its reversible). And...per all the threads on here, even if you have the resistors to turn off the airbag light, the bonnet light will stay on as it writes to the airbag computer history - that is either replace the airbag controller, reprogam the EPROM (if I can work out how), or remove the globe from the dash. Having seen how sensitive this system is, if I had my time over I'd pre-emptively remove the rams, even on a road car, because this is all a very unnecessary pain in the arse. Reminds me, time to go and have a look at the Fuga too....

    • Nah, lots of insurance repairs on V36 and V37 for pedestrians deployments. Reasons ranging from possums, to extremely severe potholes have deployed them. However, paying for the full repair can still be upto $5k AU some people have noted!

I opened the loom upto where it getting branch with other wire, i’m amazed they is no wire. So need help how to fix the speedometer problem.
