Yes I had to cut the clutch fan yes, and the dowel off the thermo fan. Can someone please post a picture of whats behind the headlight on a R33 Coupe? As that is where my battery is in the sedan and my washer bottle was directly below it in the guard.

despite the proverbial fight the performance gains were better than i thought!

I fitted the Just Jap cooler in my Stagea without any big dramas.

The Kit was designed for an R33, the only modification needed was making two simple lower mounting brackets and changing the washer bottle position.

Otherwise I was very impressed at how well this $345 kit went together!

what did you do with the washer bottle?

with regards to the pipes fouling on the washer bottle...is this stagea specific or does the r33 have the washer bottle in the same location? (i.e: under the battery )

how do you get around this when doing the installation? ..and i know that u need to cut a hole of some proportion just under the battery...i've had a quick look at my stagea and there seems to be a couple of wires running through this position

where are people mounting it? we mounted mine (just jap on a 33 s2) onto the metal bumper support with the brackets provided.. wanan know if there a good place on the under side to bolt to aswell for more support? we started doing mine today ( had to stop cause we wanted to wait and get a 3 inch circle cutter drill piece)

also we decided to cut the nipple off (for acutator vaccumline) the original stock pipe and weld it onto the other stock pipe as that one is a perfect fit.. what did other people do?

if ur in brisbane im more than happy to install it or do it for u.

always dummy fit it..

old IC off

pipes off

dummy fit cooler

dummy fit pipes

cut holes.

recheck.

adjust.

fit pipes

push cooler back

tighten clamps

Very well said - Anyone installing their own intercooler kit should be doing exactly as above.

My close friend has installed a few fair of these justjap kits.. He hasnt come across any problems.. Takes him about 4 hours all up..

Im sure it doesnt take 6 hours with a lot of fiddling around..

Guess it was just your first time hense why you had troubles..

^^ prefering this comment to the thread marker..

Edit: Seems like you got a 4 door.. Could be a totally different story then.. hmmm

ok sorry for being a real dimwit here....but u know the pipe that goes through the hole u need to cut under the battery....how do u dummy fit that without cutting the hole first? ...like i wouldnt want to cut the hole first only to find that its in the wrong location and i need to drill the hole bigger....coz i want it to be a snug fit.

With the front bar off, you dummy the pipes up to check the alignment before you cut the hole through the guard.

So many people fail to realise that you only need the piping alignment to be off a touch, and it can throw the hole fit of the kit out the window.

Take the time to double check everything before you start cutting, then you wont have any problems :D

I have a just jap kit. Mechanic said it was the worst he'd seen mostly because looks like that particular one was not packed correctly and with a call to the Just Jap guys it wasn't and they were really good about it. No brackets, wrong bolts, couple of wrong size joiners and shite clamps. Took my mechanic 7 hours to make new brackets, move everything and fit it up without cutting the front bar (400R) or the fan only the hole for the pipe and a little out of the airbox snorkal so I'll probably get something a bit different made up. Replaced all the clamps and some joiners. The fit is great, the hole for the pipe looks like it's supposed to be there.

line the pipe up with the throttlebody and with the hole u intend to cut. if its not flush. use ur imagnination and make a template hole with whiteout. give it a small allocation right a bit and a bit further back. u can clear the radiator fan. just sometimes they cut the hole too far forward.

do these kits get the rubber to runalong the cut hle so it dont rub on the pipes?

the clamps that come with the cheaper kits are not the best. u can get the bolt style from hybrid for like $10 a set. much more durable.

next time i install a FMIC either on the 34 or s14a or 33 ill time myself and post up here.

im still in the middle of installing mine.... if u know exactly what u are doing it should be quick... otherwise it mite take a little while longer than what others have quoted.

i couldnt make sense of the instructions so i took my time and had trouble getting stuff off.

does anyone know if its a problem if the piping hits the aircon lines on the drivers side?

also..... the pipe that goes between the radiator and the engine touches the bonnet... should that be alrite?

its on a 32 GTS-t btw

If fitted right, it shouldnt touch - I have the Cooling-Pro kit on my R32 GTS-T and its perfect.

Does anyone recommend the Just Jap fmic, or is it worth getting something better!!!!. if you were to to put a just jap fmic on, and some time down the track could you just change the cooler and leave the piping.

For getting 'that' hole right, visit my thread i posted on thfirst page.....got to the 8th post, i have 6 pics there and look at the 3rd pic.

Try and get that hole as low as possible without hitting the wider part of the frame by using my compass technique...

....also, to get the exact position of that hole,

1) i fixed the FMIC where i wanted it

2) attatched the pipe temporarily with the silicon hose (without bothering with the metal clips)

3) Used it like that as a compass, just like the highschool days, to get the approx x/y co-ordinate.

4) used a piece of chalk and drew a free-hand circle around the pipe giving a spot to aim for.

5) used the tiniest drill bit i had and drilled thru the centre of the chalked circel and made sure i was high/low enough looking from inside the engine bay at the hole just made.

    • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
