check all your connectors from the coilpack out.

one could be dirty or corroded.

Maybe the CAS... but unlikely with your symptom... best case is to try someone elses CAS if you can...

erm... what else. Usual other stuff, clean AFM, new fuel filter

anything that might upset the fuel or spark is what you wanna chase

Plugs you say.

BCPR6E

They are a NGK V-groove 0.8mm gapped plug.

Thats the exact part number, don't go adding bits to it or changing it. They can be had from Motor traders/Coventrys for as little as $2.80 per plug. Buy else where and they might not have them and if they do you will be looking at $4.80 or something per plug.

Under full load/WOT... Have you checked your voltages? Maybe your Alt is on her merry way?

Has the motor been out of the car? Check all earths. Battery to chassis, battery to chassis to motor, all the little earth straps from the chassis to exhaust manifold, inlet manifold and head. Lots of little buggers around. Well there is on mine. ;)

OK So first thing

I read last night teh plug thing, and i was wondering what the differance is betweens i am running and the BCPR6E, i have also heard of BCPR6ES. I know NGK use to have a plug referance that told you what all the letter stood for, anyone have one? According to the NGK website the BKR6EYA are a direct replacemtn for iridiums that the car is suppose to have.???????

So i will try some of these plugs and see how it goes?

Injectors and clean, as best as i can tell, i checked all of trhem, flow almost all thesame, but i might try some good injector clener, what do you recomend?

I will do a log of the Voltages on teh way home, but as far as i know the alternator is ok, it never runs flat, voltage is 14.2 running, new battery, all seams ok, but will check it, Thanks.

The motor has not been out of the car, but i am not sure if all the earth are connected, as i don't know wher they all should be, will do some research.

In regards to R&R, no issues there, i can pull 13 psi before anythign flattens out, it's like a revlimmiter, not a cut out as such.

Going to do some more researching today.

Was told that a faulty CAS will do this aswell, can somone confirm and tell me what to look out for?

Do the R33 need a different spark plug????

DAM IT???

Funny thing is the problme was not there when car was STOCk it gradualy got worse the more mods i put onto the car. HUMMM...

May sound silly but are you sure you dont have a washer or something in the coilpack bay? I only ask coz thats what happened to me. After months of gapping and silicon, all it was, was a 2mm washer hiding in the well of cylinder 3

Will check it out, but i don't think there is anythign in there to ark out agains. What can i do to see if it is not an injector fault as per this post

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=129897&hl=

Also is there anyway i can tell if it is just an individual coil doing it.

The thing is if it is an injector or something, would gapping the plugs down fix this?

The BK plugs are essentially the same as the BC plugs just a touch shorter.

so what are all the EYA things for, i know 6 is heat range and so forth, but the rest. DO you think it is benificial to get the BCPR6E or stick with mine and go down to 0.7mm gap

How can i gignose a faulty CAS?

How do i dignose if an injector is faulty?

Other then that, the car is sooo much better, pulls nice, smooth idle, me like.

thanks budy, much appriciated.

I have gone through the maintnace manual and am going to perform all the test to see what i come up with, susspition is down to CAS or injector, or bad earth. LOL, there is a lot of OR's

Maybe you have a hairline crack in the ceramic of one of the plugs?

I done this once when I used a swivel to replace the plug under the cross over pipe. I had the plugs in and out 3-4 times and only saw the crack on the last. Drove me insane trying to track down the slight miss around 5500rpm that would then clear up and pull well to 7000rpm.

So check them all very carefully. :)

Gap to 0.8mm and then try to get to the bottom of what the 'real' cause of your misfire is.

The boost levels your running you should be able to run a 0.8 gap.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
    • Well the articals keep saying a Q50s (Skyline in Japan) with a new Manual gearbox. I like the talk about the new looks with the round tail lights. I hope they bring back the retro look like they did with the Z
