Asking people what type of clutch they use ?

Cost of the clutch ?

Labour cost's ?

Rebuild cost's ?

And lastly , where did you get it done ?

sorry dyno results (rwks) would also be worth a mention

all comment's welcome

I have a exedy twin plate which needs rebuilding or replacement.

Have spoken to extreme clutches (adelaide clutch services) already by the way.

Just checking out other options and opinions. :P

Nismo have stopped making the G Max series clutches. From the success of the Nismo Copper mix single clutch which is the strongest single clucth available that can handle 420 PS. Now Nismo have decided to make the Twin Plate copper clutch to suit most nissans. Rated at 640PS the NISMO Super CopperMix is the highest performance model on the clutch system line. It uses a copper mixture for the clutch disk. The CopperMix is able to handle high horsepower outputs & transmit the all the power to the wheels

Nismo twin plate for BNR32

$1500

exedy 5 puck ceramic

had full faced ceramic extreme, very good streetable clutch. held 205rwkw for 3 years of bashing.

why not do it yourself? i'd help someone. easy job, just needs two people. f**k payin some bastard hundreds when he'll also take your car for a hammer!

I dont have the space to do it myself and wouldn't know where to start.

I have been talking to Jason who used to work at united subaru in town (he owns a 32GTR vspec s"2) and he lives just around the corner from my work.

He is offering to do the job with a cheaper labour price than where the car has been before(mates rates),

and seems to know his stuff. Might take a bit longer than a workshop but that is alright because I wont get the bulls#@t dribble that I seem to get elsewhere.

Because the car makes close to 300rwks I am been told to keep to the twin plate item's.

My 32GTR has the 33GTR box in it because it was one of the last 200 made.

The car has the pull clutch mechanism which has linkages added to convert it to a push type in the bell housing and these will come out and be available at a later stage for some one to pick up (worth $200 secondhand) Might suit a 33GTR owner. :(

Thanks for the offer Ryan if that is what you are saying but after mondays crash, I will have to avoid heavy lifting of any kind for a few month's . Dont want to inflame the torn disc in my lower back from previous accident. :P

Jason from greenline.jp supplied me with my OS Giken twin plate rebuild kit (Kit A), was delivered to my door within 7 days of payment/order for just over $800 ($804 or something)

I then had the guys at ACS/Extreme machine my flywheel and the mounting surface for the clutch cover for under $80 same day service

The twin plate came with a gearbox I bought, and install has been $250 in past, waiting to see what it will be this time as is getting done this week.

I would email greenline and tell them the exact model Exedy twin plate you have and see if they can source a genuine rebuild kit for you.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
