haha

excel, 20, in dads name, 6 points on license, $600 with sgio

excess is 400+350

shows ya that sometimes it doesnt really matter what type of car it is, but what type of driver it is (i mean george's is cheaper then mine and the car is million times better :P and its in his name - mines in my dads name)

What type of insurance is yours? Mine is just the most basic 3rd party one, & hence the price (well at 1st it was $328, but JC shaved off $20 coz I paid online using credit card :) ).

The type of the car plays a bit of a role I guess, but not much in 3rd party insurance. If I still had my mum's old VN as my car (thank god that I don't :woot: ), I would guess that the price for basic 3rd party would be ~$200 max with RAC. Coz it was like only ~$120 with my mum when she still had the car.

Car: R33 GTS (NA :))

Cant put it in my dad's name. Cant go up too much when I get my license, can it? They dont even know about my exhaust or rims :D

your getting your balls ripped of on that price.

My NA R33 was only $700 and agreed value of $14000

this was when I was 17 too and just got my license.

Got my just car insurance renewal (3rd party fire + theft) in the mail today and the bastards jacked up the vehicle excess by an extra 50%! The vehicle excess was $500 last time I renewed and now it's been jacked up to $750! I've been with them for 3 years and haven't made any claims, the premium has only gone down by about $20 since the first year I was with them. Going to call them up, complain and then look for other insurers if they don't do something about it. I looked at the policy document briefly and didn't see any mention about excess possibly increasing if you don't make a claim.

Sounds like HBF could be good but do they insure under 25 year olds? I'm 22, had my licence cancelled in 2005 for excess 0.05 and have had a couple of speeding fines. Also one claim back in 2004. Only looking for third party (with fire and theft if available). Oh yeah it's an R33 GTST with barely any mods (exhaust/suspension/air filter).

btw when you guys get quotes and don't have such a clean driving record make sure you listen to the questions they ask carefully. Most of the times they are only interested in claims/infringements/offences in the last 3-5 years. If they ask you about your history and don't mention how long ago to go back, ask them because it'll make a huge difference to your premium/excess.

My vehicle excess is $750 as well, which gives a total excess of $1800 :) ($450+$750+$600)

& JC got my policy screwed up as well, they added the theft excess ($500), even though I only applied for basic 3rd party. Took them like 6 month to realize it & only just got it changed correctly today.

Hopefully my premium goes down a bit next year, but not keeping up high hopes for it...

Update, as the 33 copped a built motor so I wanted to insure it for more.

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
