Had a guy today at the estate agents ask questions of me for about 5 minutes about the car, then when I got home, the woman from across the road came running across to see what make the car was.

Her whole family (inc 4 kids) were trying to guess what make it was and they were all wrong.

Think the limo glass with clear front windows tends to get attention as it is something different on cars here

I love the jaw dropping action from young guys in skylines... (its happened 3 times to me) and while mitchy's been driving it he's had a few comments. People even so keen to catch him at a set of lights >_<

I love the gawkers ;) I chopped a commie the other day, that was great too. :D andI chopped Mitchy heheheh

i've had ppl leave cards/pieces of paper under my wipers for me to contact them as they've wanted to know details as were interested in them.

And guys at work reckon there's always young guys checking my car out in the car park with bewildered looks on their faces.

But yeah ... pretty much agree with everyone, its a daily thing catching ppl gawking at your car in traffic.

hahaha i have had so many its not funny :) still the ones where you walk out of the shops to have people looking around your car, then when you deactivate your alarm they are like "this your car...yeah..oh your female..yeah your point?...its one sexy car, new model or something..then i explain to them and they are like nice and a girl with an import" whats the deal with that, cant girls have them or something??

Funniest one i have had yet, was the guy trying to give me his mobile number at the lights and trying to catch me that made my day :) THe cops are kinda stupid to, they see my nismo sticker sit up my ass thinking i will do something wrong and then they drive next to me trying to figure out what the hell im driving :)

Yeah, well how about this...................

A HUGE storm was brewing in rocky this arvo, so just as I finish work I get a call from my wife, it's hailing about 5mins away from where I am, but where I am it is not even raining, but looks bad.

I when it started rain, it came down so fast that in about 30secs I was aquaplanning on the road, there was just that much water, so I managed to pull off and into a petrol station to take cover from the hail, which was just starting.

As soo as I stop, the siren on my car alarm goes off, I am like WTF!?!?!? The car is still running, I hit all the buttons on the remote for the alarm, no good, so there I am, surrounded by about a dozen other people in their cars, the siren BLARING and hail coming down........... The other people there were giving me some wierd looks. I wasnt game to get out of the car because the rain was coming in sideways, they were just going to have to deal with it.

So the hail ended and the rain eased up and I drove home and popped the bonnet and used the key to turn the siren off.

A HUGE THANK YOU To Chris Rogers, (that is his username on SAu), as he installed it and he was able to tell me that when the siren part gets wet it will sound, so I took it all apart, used a hirdryer to dry it out and then COULDNT GET IT BACK TOGETHER :) After a bit of fiddling and help from my wonderfully patient wife, we got it back together and bolted it all back in and hey presto it works fine.

The amount of people looking at me as I tried to drive home in the shortest amount of time possible was just about everyone....... even in the cabin it is bloody loud so I guess it would be the same loudness for those other people too...........

I have to admit to gawking at my own car sometimes!. My daily driver is the XR6 Turbo, and sometimes when I am travelling home from work, I catch the back end of the Stag as Cathy drives it home. Its an awesome car to look at as its rolling. Cathy is always getting checked out and I get a lot of looks when I take it out and about. When the sun hits the silky pearl it looks scweeeeeeetttt.

Hahaha, your mum thinks it's a sensible car! When it's complied and on the road properly, you might have to try a hard launch with her in the car and see what she says - get ready to duck away from the backhander, though!

Then again, I've been using mine to transport heaps of tables and chairs in the past few days. I managed to quite comfortably fit 4 large fold-up tables and 20 plastic chairs into one trip yesterday!

For some reason my wife has not been too keen to drive it until the other day when we were going somewhere with her sister following in another car and they pulled up next to us to turn onto the highway. The onramp goes from 2 lanes into one and I didnt want to get stuck behind their truck (holden jackaroo) so as soon as i was aorund the corner and pointing down the onramp i floored it up to the speed limit. My wife turned to me in shock and said i didnt know it could do that after it had blasted down the ramp at warp speed and then asked when she could drive. now i will never get the keys back she is a more agressive driver than I am :D

I must admit the attention you get from owning a stag is good but sometimes it just gives me the sh$ts. Especially when you"ve got some captain know it all spinning some crap in your ear when he doesn't know JACK.

I love the sound of snapping necks when you're cruisin around tho, if only the front windows were as tinted as the rear ones so you can't see the tool in falcadore with one eye brow raised and the confused look on his face. :)

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
