Sorry I did't turn up didn't realise it was going to be that late. Just finishing at the gym at that time. Will definantely have to drop by 1 day & check out what you guys have though;

Yes but we are talking silicon. :(

I've always used rubber in the past but had a small issue with it cracking over time. it turns out the grommet stuff is crapo. I last grabbed usual rubber stuff from motor mates and i've had no issues since.

I'm conservative with my car. Bright poofy colours are not for me. :happy:

IF I could find some nice black silicon vac hose I would spend the extra and be done with it. I've owned the car for 5+ years now so I've most likely seen the problems of heat + rubber vac hose more so than some others. BUT it does come down to its quality as I said.. Grommet is just crap.

I like blue... so sue me. but my rocker covers are gonna be farkin red as. i guess i just want it looking kinda newish buy not stokish. i realise if the cops pull me over and look under the hood theyll get me to regency on suspect of having mods so i might aswell do it so i get a bit of "what the f**k" expresiion out of them too and try and tape the event.

just to get sent to regency..+ the cost of removing parts/ refitting...then getting farked over when they see u taping it? :unsure:

Its not so bad paul.

Providing its not dumped on its arse with powerfc h/c's sitting in the cabin, pillar guages, plenums and high mount turbo's they usually cannot pick that a modification has been done.

A little bit of prettyness won't get you defected as it all depends on what you say at the time.

"I used silicon hose as it withstands the engine bay heat better, the standard rubber stuff cracks every couple of years."

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
