i think justcars quoted me 1800 for my GTR haha./. damn it noel it sucks being able to use both my testicles and get it up often and pay a grand more for insurance.. hehe

jokes buddy.. :)

You might need to sit by the fire one night and let old Uncle Noel tell you the story bout the old bull and the young bull dude. :P

oh do please tell..

story time please uncle noel :P

One day an old bull and a young bull were grazing on the hillside when the young bull rushed up to the old fella and said. Hey look! theres a new herd of heifers just been let in to the paddock, Lets run down and f@##$k a few. Not so fast said the old bull, Lets just walk down and F#$#%k them all. :)

Im paying $1200 with shannons on the cef, agreed value, all mods listed, and im 22 with 2 technical losses of licence in the past 5 years. Car isnt garaged (carport off the street tho), and I had to bargin with them to get the rating one...

That said just cars wanted $1250 to insure the car for $5k less than my agreed value with shannons, with half the mods listed, and Id been with them for the past 3 years with just the third party, which apparently made some difference... They also had a much higher excess.

It seriously doesnt make sense to me.

Thats odd, I had the opposite experience...Shannons wanted charge me nearly twice as much..and I was in the same boat as you with the loss of license thing

Comments from the supercoach!

and Shannons are getting to expensive for me.

I am paying just over $1300 for my insurance, at the time of insuring Shannons policy was the best I could find for what you get but they just made a policy change and stuffed if I can be bothered reading through it all and comparing it again and Shannons wouldn't tell me the changes over the phone.

I think I might go do the ring around for insurance again.

Maybe its the whole skyline thing? Maybe they are considered a bigger risk to shannons rather than justcars? That or shannons just didnt like you? :)

No idea hey.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
