I'm gonna have to postpone my festivities to the FOLLOWING weekend, as there's already a large group at both paintball and go karting - I don't want no one throwing off my groove.

Open house! I don't care, it'll look like I have friends.

I spotted Daniel & Emily at the Show'n'Shine yesterday;it seems nothing was said about our monies paid earlier. I had it in my head to say G'day and find out where it was all up to in this regard, but got sidetracked with other things Skyline. Stay tuned...

its been around 6 months now?

people, ur not getting ur money back, thats that.. they scammed you and left for sydney, simple as that.. there will NOT be any paintball, there will NOT be any shooting, and there will NOT be any refunds..

You obviously have not read the threads and your post is unwarranted. Yes they may not have handelled it the best, but to say they were trying to scam the "club" is totally untrue.

All I'll say to that is that firstly, I don't think you know what you're talking about.

Secondly, 'Em's reasons for going to Sydney have nothing to do with trying to "scam a car club out of a few $$$"

And thirdly, regardless of my feelings towards Daniel (little toad that he is), 'Em wouldn't do something like that, nor would she allow it to happen at the hands of someone else.

I'm not expecting to see the money, that's due to Daniel not 'Em but if you're going to have a go at someone, at least know what you're on about before you do Mick.

No hard feelings, just felt something needed to be said.

Mick, what you said was completely uncalled for.

People who paid their deposits are not the only ones out of pocket right now... Still waiting on the refund, I keep getting stuffed around with the manager there who says it'll be in my account by lunch and 2 days later still nothing! I ring back and no one else can help me because the manager is not there and he is the only one who can authorise the refund.

I'm doing the best I can, if I didn't want to get people their money back why the hell would I still be trying to organise a refund from Sydney! also, why would I show up to the car show with Daniel if all we wanted to do was take your money and run? Also Andrew, the name calling and immaturity has got to stop. This is a public forum keep personal stuff off it, I have learnt my lesson from previous lapses of maturity, this is not the place to do it, especially when they don't even have a chance to defend themselves on here and they left the forums to stop personal attacks and grief so you need to do the same. This is not a place to have a b!tch about people and things that did not go your or anyone else's way, it is for car enthusiasts and Skyline lovers.

We tried our best to fit a date in with everyone and it just ended up biting us in the bum when almost half the group could not make it, which is understandable so to reinforce point, I am doing my best to hammer these people for the deposits to be returned.

  • 2 weeks later...

My birthday festivities wont be happening on that weekend that I specifie anymore (14/04/2007). I was told that there was a large group booking that morning.. I hate large amounts of people.

Right, I'm sick of Daniel/Emily lack of responses about paintball and refunds.

Ministry of Paintball has confirmed the refund was made to Emily's account some time ago. This forum has been very understanding about the lack of refunds or even reply's to PM's but enough is enough.

Please answer these questions Daniel/Emily

1. Is the money secure in a bank account?

2. WHEN!! Are the people who have paid for paintball going to receive refunds?

I have PM's both Emily and Daniel with this questions. I and many others would appreciate an open answer in reply.

OK,so now the truth is out, fess' up E + D. Likewise,I've been diplomatic to this point, but this is just bulls**t. At this point,it is no idle threat to say I will happily have the appropriate authorities look it to this. F**k the lame stalling tactics, you pair: enough is enough.

P.S. To all the crew that had paid deposits, and that I'd PM'd to ask them to write a PM to E + D; let everyone know what you were 'told' was going on Here's E's response the last time I asked where it was all up to:

ME: G'day Emily! Could I ask you to pass this on to Daniel, please,as I've no idea what his username is on the forums. Thanks in advance,Jayce.

G'day Daniel. I've heard from some reliable sources that the paintball deposit money should have been refunded by now. I just wanted to see where you were up to with that, and, if so, if there's anything I can do to help redistribute said deposits to Canberra's SAU'ers. Cheers,Jayce.

E:Daniel is no longer on the forum as he was told to unregister by certain persons on the forum and i have spoken to him and the deposits should of been back 2 weeks ago but someone decided to interfer which meant your deposits would of been given to those who were at the show in person and the rest deposited back in to the accounts and no the deposits still are not back as they have not contacted daniel who has been chasing the said deposits to get them back since the cancellation the set back was caused by people ringing up saying that they had his permission which they never did. Daniel will let me know when he has the deposits back and will get me to start a new topic asking for everyone to pm me their bank account details which will be passed onto daniel and deposits returned as they were paid. Daniel is very sorry fpr the trouble that was caused and the trouble that he is still going through to get the eposits back. which as i said would of been back 2 weeks ago if it was for people interfering

Thanks

Emily and Daniel

ME: Fair enough,I guess. Any ETA on said deposits?

E: hopefully soon

And that's all I've got. As we can see,the ride we're getting taken on is now quite apparent...

For starters...

The deposits still have not hit my account for the refund so how on earth am I supposed to refund something I don't have?

Secondly, I have not received one damn PM from anyone until now (thankyou John and Jayce).

Also, I asked people to PM me their bank deatils for the deposits to be returned, this was not done.

I do not take kindly to threats of any sort and find it rather disturbing that John was able to access personal information from Ministry of Paintball before I even knew about it myself. Considering Daniel was the only authorised person to access that account it makes me wonder how John can acquire such personal information without a certain amount of dodgieness added.

If you have PM'd Daniel I assume you forgot he de-registered from the forum because of the sh*t that happened. It p*sses me off that a few of you have acted in such a childish way over 25 f*cking dollars. I had been hounding the paintball place for weeks to hurry up this refund. They advised me the manager had finally done the transaction and I am now playing a waiting game for the funds to clear.

I appreciate the fact that you SAUers have been patient for the refund but as I said before, how do I refund something I still DO NOT HAVE. I cannot give you a time frame for when yet, but will post as soon as the funds clear in my account.

You must've missed me;I never have had your request for bank details. Anyone else get this PM? And will anyone else put their hand up to asking E + D in a PM as to what's going on? I know Skylvia didn't send anything;the rest of you that are out of pocket/inconvenienced send this PM? Or,as asked, receive the one E says she sent? I'd love to think this was the case, but I'm over looking at this through rose-coloured glasses...

    • I know why it happened and I’m embarrassed to say but I was testing the polarity of one of the led bulb to see which side was positive with a 12v battery and that’s when it decided to fry hoping I didn’t damage anything else
    • I came here to note that is a zener diode too base on the info there. Based on that, I'd also be suspicious that replacing it, and it's likely to do the same. A lot of use cases will see it used as either voltage protection, or to create a cheap but relatively stable fixed voltage supply. That would mean it has seen more voltage than it should, and has gone into voltage melt down. If there is something else in the circuit dumping out higher than it should voltages, that needs to be found too. It's quite likely they're trying to use the Zener to limit the voltage that is hitting through to the transistor beside it, so what ever goes to the zener is likely a signal, and they're using the transistor in that circuit to amplify it. Especially as it seems they've also got a capacitor across the zener. Looks like there is meant to be something "noisy" to that zener, and what ever it was, had a melt down. Looking at that picture, it also looks like there's some solder joints that really need redoing, and it might be worth having the whole board properly inspected.  Unfortunately, without being able to stick a multimeter on it, and start tracing it all out, I'm pretty much at a loss now to help. I don't even believe I have a climate control board from an R33 around here to pull apart and see if any of the circuit appears similar to give some ideas.
    • Nah - but you won't find anything on dismantling the seats in any such thing anyway.
    • Could be. Could also be that they sit around broken more. To be fair, you almost never see one driving around. I see more R chassis GTRs than the Renault ones.
    • Yeah. Nah. This is why I said My bold for my double emphasis. We're not talking about cars tuned to the edge of det here. We're talking about normal cars. Flame propagation speed and the amount of energy required to ignite the fuel are not significant factors when running at 1500-4000 rpm, and medium to light loads, like nearly every car on the road (except twin cab utes which are driven at 6k and 100% load all the time). There is no shortage of ignition energy available in any petrol engine. If there was, we'd all be in deep shit. The calorific value, on a volume basis, is significantly different, between 98 and 91, and that turns up immediately in consumption numbers. You can see the signal easily if you control for the other variables well enough, and/or collect enough stats. As to not seeing any benefit - we had a couple of EF and EL Falcons in the company fleet back in the late 90s and early 2000s. The EEC IV ECU in those things was particularly good at adding in timing as soon as knock headroom improved, which typically came from putting in some 95 or 98. The responsiveness and power improved noticeably, and the fuel consumption dropped considerably, just from going to 95. Less delta from there to 98 - almost not noticeable, compared to the big differences seen between 91 and 95. Way back in the day, when supermarkets first started selling fuel from their own stations, I did thousands of km in FNQ in a small Toyota. I can't remember if it was a Starlet or an early Yaris. Anyway - the supermarket servos were bringing in cheap fuel from Indonesia, and the other servos were still using locally refined gear. The fuel consumption was typically at least 5%, often as much as 8% worse on the Indo shit, presumably because they had a lot more oxygenated component in the brew, and were probably barely meeting the octane spec. Around the same time or maybe a bit later (like 25 years ago), I could tell the difference between Shell 98 and BP 98, and typically preferred to only use Shell then because the Skyline ran so much better on it. Years later I found the realtionship between them had swapped, as a consequence of yet more refinery closures. So I've only used BP 98 since. Although, I must say that I could not fault the odd tank of United 98 that I've run. It's probably the same stuff. It is also very important to remember that these findings are often dependent on region. With most of the refineries in Oz now dead, there's less variability in local stuff, and he majority of our fuels are not even refined here any more anyway. It probably depends more on which SE Asian refinery is currently cheapest to operate.
