Hi guys as a new member (300ZX TT) I did a breakfast run down to Lorne last Sun. THe main group left Geelong at 7.30am and we arrived at Lorne around 8.30am. 944 Porsche, 92 RX7, Lotus Espirit Turbo, Boxster and a collection of late model aircooled and watercooled 911s. With my twin turbo Zed as the other Jap representative. Sadly no Skylines but interesting to pace oneself behind the car in front (a late model Carrerea which was quite easy to keep up with).

FWIW been down this way a few times since Xmas and with all the cameras and police it's cruise control for me as this whole area is very well policed. Its more relaxing to sit back, relax just under 100.

Just before Lorne we had fun on the twisties and after breafast I came home solo via Deans Marsh, Colac, Cressy back to Geelong and back to Melbourne. About 430km for the day

Having never driven a R32/33/34 GTR I guess I'm in the right place to mix with you guys.

Currently enjoyng my auto TT 2+2 300ZX but admit to looking at GTRs. Whether or not they would be as relaxing and comfortable as the Zed not sure. But perhaps if I can join you guys on a cruise one day I'll get more of a feel for any differences.

One things for sure Nissan build a very interesting range of cars.

TTerminator your welcome to come hope a few guys bring thier GTR's so you can have a look.

al the Shell servo on the Point Cook Rd Exit.

This would be the best place to meet, as it is central to everyone and on the way to Geelong.

al i know the servo that your talking of but it wont be any good (event tho it has 100 cotane fuel) as it will just be to cramped for 15-25 cars. im going to go with the averlon servo were we started for the members cruiz as i know it is big and will suite our needs

Turko

Would a Humble Nissan Silvia & 180SX be allowed to join in on the fun?

you guys are welcome to come. sau altho skyline based allowes other types of cars to join as we are a cam's licenced club.

(and will give use a brake from all the r33's :D )

so guys the meet point will be the servo just out the front of averlon airport at little river.

key map 11 D12 it on the princes freeway

would the guys from the northen suburbs (thats you spin pyscle.) wona do a mini cruiz to the main meetpoint.

i.e meet at grensbrough and cruiz to gether down to the meet point. other are welcome if your wish to join us.

will most likly meet at 8.30 am on the 7th.

Please note this cruise is NOT a "Club Event" and is subsequently not covered by SAU Vic's CAMS public liability insurance.

It doesnt take much to confuse some people Brentt, you gotta be careful with statements like the above ;)

hey brent,

im northern burbs but is a longer distance for me to drive to greensie from reservoir to only drive back past. why dont the northern burbs meet at the bell st maccas in preston then take bell st til we hit freeway?

ley me know.

sorry that came acrross wrong. i was just stateing that SAU either a member event or not does not descrimernate (i.e allow only skylines) in to the club and any body is welcome. am i right bec.

and yes this event is NOT covered by cams. so be cearfule

and turbo x i take it you will be comeing

guy the mini cruise thread is up so post up there if u'r going on it

chears brentt

Brentt, your cruise so you decide.

BUT.......... B4 SAU Vic was an offical club we used that servo as a meet point for the GOR cruise and we had 40-50 cars parked there, so 15-20 cars is no problem.

I know if i was coming (engine now deceased :) ), i would not drive to Bell Str. Macca's to only drive back. Hell, i wouldn't take my car to that macca's even if i lived round the corner.

I live just around the corner from Bell St Maccas, so that sounds good to me :(

hey al you dont have to come to the bell st maccas this meet point is only for people who are close or on the east side of melb. as for your self if you do come you can meet us at little river (the main meet point) so that way you wont have to drve back and forth.

as for the servo with it being easter it will probably be full (like most) so ive decided on littler river as i know that it will hold a high number of cars.

sickem555 are you comeing or conferming

    • Per Mark Roberts of Sonictune: Mark Robert Author At this time, no. No ETA either 2016-17 models. You will be able to purchase and install a 2018.5+ TCU though   TCU purchasing and pricing info! As we near the release of TCU tuning, I am going to answer some questions I get asked often.   What do I need for TCU tuning? At this time, you will need a 2018.5+ TCU to be able to tune. If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. One good way to know if your TCU is good is if you have auto upshift in manual mode in 1st gear around 6500 rpms. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? The TCU is its own computer module. It is completely separate from the ECU. Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
