I am waiting for a call back from them. My car is still with them and when I try to call them I am getting their answering machine, they must be on lunch.

What was going to be approx $80 and 1 hour to be done while I wait has turned into $220ish and all day.

If the quality of the work is good then I have no problems with the extra time, I will just know better for next time.

its hard to find a workshop these days that will actually use communication skills

that's why i was amazed when i used elite racing. dan called me to give updates and called before even thinking about charging more than quoted so we could discuss my engine plans and his plans. A1 communication.

what are u getting done???

Got the car back. No unauthorised work was performed. They looked over the whole car and printed out a list of minor things that need doing.

All seems good. It was a good experience all round.

showbag,

I had to get the gearbox and atessa system drained, then have the atessa system flushed to remove the gearoil that was put in it.

So....... have you actually left the car yet??? Or are you still driving around with a big silly grin on your face???

i reckon hes got a massive cheesy grin plastered on his face, the same one as the first time he got laid.

hell i would if i was driving that gtr

You are assuming Ben has been laid. I believe he was the inspiration for the "40 yo virgin" movie.

Is it really THAT different from driving a well set up GTS-T????

If it is....... I will have to see for myself then......

i dont think it would be that different, but i just love bens gtr, its the only gtr that i truly like.

Just because I was smart enough to not implant my seed and prove how bad it was doesn’t mean I haven’t spread it around on occasion!

Yeah the car is back on the road, sorting out the next bunch of go fast mods now to be fitted over the next 4 weeks.

If anyone has info on using RB20 Air Flow Meters on a GTR then please PM me.

just on the tuning side of things, charlies at wooloongabba are very good with skylines. ive never had a problem with them, and ive got a few other mates with rb's getting their cars tuned there.

:D Charlies is still there?? i thought he went outta business is shop looks really empty and have 4 sale signs up. :bunny:

hmmm, ive heard that from a couple of ppl but that was a few months ago and my car has been in there to get tuned since then and i didnt see any for sale signs nor was i told they were shutting down. thats not to say it hasnt happened. my car was in there about 4 weeks ago so something may have happened since. shame if they have shut down, dave is a great tuner.

    • I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p
    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
    • So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.
    • Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
    • I suppose it was relatively stock too, the JZ motor handle most mods thrown at them without even breaking a sweat
