seriously get a lawyer, tell your circumstances to the judge, like where u work and stuff how you needed to drive on that day, don't listen to people who think you might get higher penalty or other penalty even if it true, And don't say you were driving with out licince more than once u probably will regret it, but at the end of the day its your decision, ow start praying to GOD when you go to bed and go to church, and hope for a miracle

I had to be the bearer of bad news but God believes in justice too. haha

haaahah relax relax im not that dull.....

i wont lie i did drive from time..... but still i will keep my mouth shut, i need to see whats the mandatory for driving without a license, ill find that out with a legal aid... If he tells me mandatory for driving without a license is 6 months, then whats the use of getting a lawyer right?

Fair enough im a believer in god, but im a man not a saint  even i cant be nice all the time hehe

Hmmm, bad luck man. It was a stupid thing to do to drive whilst suspended licence. I have been busted 6 times for the same stupidity. The 2nd time i got caught and explained my story the judge let me off with a bond. 3rd-6th time was all in 1 hit court summons. Through me in community work and a fine. I do consider myself a lucky chap as they are to throw you in the cell for a couple of months on the 2nd time you get caught.

I think the judge do consider your side of the story, get a legal aid to help you with getting your side of the story out so that they can also advise the judge that you have learnt your lesson. But yeah it's really up to the judge at the end of the day. Worst case senario is going in for a couple of months... But i mean they take into consideration of your age and if you are getting somewhere with your life eg, work, school..

good luck mate.

m.

i wouldnt bother with a lawyer get legal aid they are good. its not worth the money. you will cop a fine up to $1000 depending on judge

they can give you longer loss of licence but if they do just cop it on the chin.

just dont get caught again cause then your screwed hard

im in the exact situation my mate would have gone to jail for 2 years cause of a prior offence

i ended up getting my second drink drive cause of that. i wasnt happy. but i had to do it cause he would have done it for me

what the f*ck is going on! why the fudge does everyone have court appearances or been to court?

anyways, gd luck to those with upcoming court dates...

but seriously, fark, it's not that hard to drive legally, ain't rocket surgery

Their is no mandatory (statutory) punishment for driving whilst suspended in VIC. I know this 100% I was lucky and got no additional time added to my suspension.

The magistrates discretion will come into play. More than likely you will get an extended period of suspension.

But because it is magistrates discretion it's worth having a "real good story" and showing emotion, remorse, etc.

oooo man that takes alot off my shoulders.....

well everyday it takes me almost 2 hrs to get to work with public transport. I leave my house at 5:30am and i get there at 7:20. when i finish which is 4, it takes me almost 3 when returning because of all the traffic. Going from Narren Warren to Burwood its a hell of a thing. I have driven only 3 times to work and i got caught once.

I can get a Refrence stating that i need my car to get to work and all that.

Wow that post really made my day... well i guess we will see what happenes :)

got any friends that live near your work that you can shack up with for a short amount of time? pay a little rent, but get to sleep like an extra 2 hours every morning :)

hahaah i wish, if that was the case i would have never driven in the first place :P

ahahah yea that would kinda suck....

what i will do is get my boss to write me a letter of recomendation and also stating that i need my license for the job, maybe it will sway the judge to just giving me a fine.... only time will tell i guess

  • 4 weeks later...

ok well i talked to the boss he is going to write me a recomendation, and i got a booking for a lawyer on june 28th so we will see what happens, oh and this coming wendesday i get to drive.... feels like its been years.... ill keep you guys posted what the lawyer says

  • 4 weeks later...

alrite well i got my liscense back... good god it feels so good to drive again.... in these past 2 weeks i clocked over 1,000kms... alrite anywhoo

I got my employer to write me a letter, stating the position i was in at the time, and also how long it took me to get to work, how i got there etc etc preety much the bibile on how i get to work.

Although the lawyer had to rechedule the meeting till 17th July, so i still have to see what he has to say...

I dont know if you guys were waching the court cases here in Melb (dandy) but the 4 cases i saw, preety much they were in the same position as me they got away with only a fine, and they had no written proof from their employer on paper stating they had to drive, so i like my chances.

Also another good thing in the report it doesn't say that i drive a Skyline all it says its the rego number so

Things are looking good so far, but i will keep you posted as promised,

Cheers

Good to hear bro - glad you're finally getting your life back on track!

Just remember this as a valuable lesson and do not do the wrong thing again!

As long as you learn from your mistake and move on gracefully, there's no need to dwell on the past and beat yourself up all the time... move on, but do not forget the leassons learnt - this is the key!!

Good luck mate.

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
