i have a mojor air leak some where . i fellow SAU friend recons i should remove the hose(pcv) and block both holes on crackcase and rocker cover to see if this remedies my delema . any one blocked theirs off? - the sound is comming from their somewhere yet i cannot locate it . it could be possible that the one way valve in the pcv hose is ruined , any one had any leaks there or blocked theirs?

YUp my pcv valve seal also has a air leak, you can hear it start to whistle when the car is idling, hasnt caused any dramas yet tho, if you really want to block it off and do a quick job you could just cut the hose in half a put a bolt in each end to block it off.

But you might aswell get a catch can then remove the whole pcv setup and get an alloy bung made to fit inside the original pcv valve seal that goes in the cam cover, thats what i will be doing very soon.

thanks for reply . after the car has warmed up a bit - the loud wistling noise comes on . wont go away . im going to atempt this today - hopefully this will fix it , iv had this problem for a few months and still no luck . will post results in a few hours. thanks

results - i blocked off the pcv hose , yet to find when the car started it was bumpy as all hell . so i put it back together as per usual. i thought of spraying some wd40 around the hoses near there , and the wistling leak stopped and went to just an air wooshing sound , still cant find it .

i tried putting a hose and moving it aroun trying to listen where , its got me stuffed

can anybody help - this is soooo anooying , and its causing a slight rough idle now and then.

    • Wanna rewrite all of that in, say, 2 or 3 separate sentences, so that we can read it?
    • Just yesterday the car started to shake a bit when idle. So tomorrow ima test the some wires and packs with the multimeter and see what it is. Hopefully is a pack because thats the easiest thing to buy same day here where I live in the USA.
    • shot myself in the leg and now last night I have shaking when I idle lol
    • I'm not a big fan of the Cometic gaskets either, as above the head and deck need to be like a mirror (can't remember the RA) so Kamieri sounds like a good idea.  FWIW a mate of mine hordes old motor stuff and has some blank unground Nizmo cams for one of these in his supply if random shit if you're interested.
