system goes like this: standard pump - filter - surge tank - 044 - filter - Y block - twin entry rail - fpr and back to surge etc.

Now my question is, I seem to remember reading somewhere that you need to have a check valve between the pump and the rail to stop fuel backfeeding the pump? Is the stock one built into the pump or located inside the tank cos I can't seem to find it externally? Also is one required on a 044 or does it have one built in......not even really sure if pumps have them built in, this has just been on my mind can't even remember where the idea came from and can't seem to find anything to answer it

All bosch pumps come with a anti back flow device. If it is second hand then take it to a tuner or supplier to compare it to another. There should be a brass fitting about 1.5cm long at outlet side of pump.

Ah ok cool, thanks for that thought thats what it might be. Will have to go in search of some adapters and fittings etc. will probably end up taking that one of and using another one with some more useable fittings on it.
