Hey all,

I did a search but couldn't find anything on this topic. Just wondering what mods should be done to a stock RB26 to get the most out of it.

ie. 1. Air induction kit

2. ECU

etc.

I don't know to much about the RB26 engines so I just want to know what people usually to these and how the get them going so fast.(I just imported a purple R33 GTR v-spec pics soon)

Cheers

What you got to spend?

how far do you want to go?

what can you afford?

you need to think about all of these! you've got to remember that you have a car thats going to cost a bit to maintain.

Try the basics first

Hi flow air filter - cheap

Irridum sparkplugs - moderate price

cam gears - slightly pricy

Power FC computer and tune - pricy

new turbo's - very pricy

Convert RB30 - Very pricy

Other go fast things

Full exhaust - Very pricy

High quality tyres - Very pricy

Use search, there's no end of upgrades.

Hey guys,

Things have been changed a bit, the importer lied to me and said that he got a purple GTR v-spec but I called him yesturday and he couldn't find one(bullsh!t). Anyway I was only going for the R33 because I love that purple colour, but now I can't get it so I am going for a silver R32 GTR with a bit of work done(290 awkw's).

What sort of 1/4 times would we be looking at with this much power?

I want one good run out of it and then I will drop the boost for a daily driver.

Yeah its got a twin plate and 10inch tyres all around. What do you guys think I need to do to get a 10 out of her?

I know I need some bigger AFM's Z32 probly (has anyone got any for sale or know where I can get them) and and maybe a bigger cooler.

What else?

Cheers

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
