Ok, 2 things. Firstly it is probably something rubber on steel. Secondly, if it's worse in the wet, that indicates that it is something exposed to the elements so unlikely to be internal parts of your shock absorber (it is possible though, you might just notice it more in the wet).

Look for areas with steel and rubber contacting. Off the top of my head I can think of suspension bushes, shock absorber bushes, and the bump stops on top of the springs. Spray anything suspect with some sort of lubricant. I would think WD40 would be ok, but I'm not sure if that's ok to spray on rubber so check with someone more knowledgeable first.

There was a spray that a mechanic used to get rid of a squeak in my bike's suspension but I can't remember what it was. I think it was silicone-based.

Jimx thanks for the input, I will definetly look into that. I did ask pedders about the condition of the bushes and they said everything is fine. This is so wierd, I wish i knew why it was making that noise. I would think sometimes that something is rubbing although i sometimes squeeks which cant be something rubbing.

Thanks again Jimx

  • 2 weeks later...

i had the same problem b4

but i fixed it.

It may be because of an imbalance in the car causing too much

stress on one of the shocks.

Before i had my 12 inch sub mounted on the side of the boot which was realli heavey.

After moving it to the middle the noise was gone.

And i know for a fact that the noise came from

the front passagner suspension.

Hope thats helpful...

thanks for the info mate, its very helpfull although mine does it on the drivers side in the front wheel and if that is the case im not sure what could be causing the stress on the front shock coz i dont have anything that is heavy in the car, unless its my weight hehe

dont think so

:)

hahahah. i know what your problem is, i get it too.

i have some fat tyres on the fornt 255's and i also have low suspenson, its stiff as shit, and it rubs on hte plastic gaurds that are inside your 1/4 pannels.

check the plastic and u will see rubbing marks.

hope this solves your problem.

    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
