I know your hearing this alot but If I could sell the hg monaro Ive for sale and get the cash together Id be very interested! It sounds like a wicked car!

No its the current market, as you'll see by reading back I started out over $24k back in April.

Its going cheap now because ultimately the stock engine will require a rebuild as is evident with the lowish compression figures which I'll know exactly tomorrow as its in the shop getting a compression test today.

Right now I dont have the time nor the money really to rebuild the engine and I dont really get time to play with toys much these days so the money is best spent on my house / paying the mortgage etc. Look at any mortgage calculator and workout how much interest you save after a lumpsum payment over the life of the loan. The savings in interest for me will be 89k and 1year and 10 months. Mortgages change everything. consider it a 7.5% guaranteed return on my $12k compunded for 30 years. Not to mention saving the 2k per year in rego and insuranaces.

I hope that answers your question.

Too bad you're not in Victoria....we could probably sell your car on consignment for way more than what you're asking.....

I'd have to talk to Jon about that first, though.....have you tried contacting other dealers in NSW to sell on consignment with them?

Just got the compression checked for all those interested:

125-125-125-125-120-115

Latest power run was 263rwkw @ 17psi boost.

$12k will buy it.

Serious buyers can look today and tomorrow until deposit taken.

Thanks for the PMs all answered I think.

The car has never been involved in any accidents.

No money is owing - I own it outright.

Paint has some minor scratches but otherwise looks good. Just been polished and looks mean.

Car is very clean and tidy, solid mechanicals esp. suspension = top of the range full adjustable Tein type flex with electronic in-cabin dampening adjustment: 16 levels of Soft -> hard front and back. this setup was $2600 for parts alone.

Those compression read outs don't look too bad.. Low numbers shouldn't be taken as a sign of wear and tear.. Evenness across the board with little variance is what you're looking for and 125-115 isn't tooo bad..

The market really is absolutely dead.. For turbo's that is..

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
